Xephin for @6littlepizzas, one of my favourite authors!

"You've got the words to change a nation
But you're biting your tongue."

Sjin didn't talk much, but that was understandable. Everytime he opened his mouth the only thing that he would recieve was bullying. It didn't matter what he tried to do, the only thing that would be given to him would be harsh words and a vicious growl.

He knew what he really wanted to do, but for the life he was living his decision wouldn't be possible to live.

Whenever a fight broke out, he would try to convince them to stop, but would be merely tossed aside by the man that ruled him. Nobody would even realize he had spoken, never hearing his desperate pleads for them to stop.

"You've spent a life time stuck in silence
Afraid that you'll say something wrong
If no one ever hears it how we gonna learn your song?"

So he stopped. He stopped talking. For years, not a single word left his mouth. And what didn't surprise him, no one noticed. Everybody, but a lonesome spaceman.

Xephos worried to no extent, attempting to crack the barrier that Sjin had placed around himself, something that he only put up to stop the pain of being hurt. His past had just been full of violent actions from Sips. Being ordered around by the dwarf, when he worked for Honeydew Inc. Never once had he been loved. Or so he thought.

"So come on, come on
Come on, come on
You've got a heart as loud as lighting
So why let your voice be tamed?"

Xephos had tried reasoning with him, everyday talking to him, simply wishing for a responce. Why would Sjin not realize? The spaceman loved him, yet the farmer lay completely clueless, trapped in the melancholy of horror that haunted his past. Something had to be done to help the poor man...

"Maybe we're a little different
There's no need to be ashamed
You've got the light to fight the shadows
So stop hiding it away
Come on, come on."

Grabbing a notepad and pen, Xephos crossed his legs besides the door, he scrawled words onto the page, praying that this would work. Slipping the note under the crack in the door, Xephos brought his knees to his chin, waiting patiently for a responce. And when he heard movement from the other side, he smiled. He knew Sjin could do it.

Snatching the notepad back after it reapeared, Xephos found himself close to tears as he read what was written upon the plain white page.

"Dear Xephos, thank you. Thank you for trying to save me. All my life all that has happened to me was that I was abused by Sips, in more ways than one. Told I was worthless, made me feel like I wasn't worth it. You proved him wrong, and for that, thank you. But theres something I never told you..."

Another crumpled piece of paper came through, making Xephos choke on his own tears.

"I love you, Xephos. Goodbye. ~Sjin."

Jumping to his feet, Xephos attacked the door, not caring for the splints of wood that penetrated his pale skin. Kicking at the wood, he screamed, tears flooding down his face, staining it a rough pink.

"I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream 'til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I'm not afraid
They can read all about it
Read all about it, oh."

As the door smashed to the ground, banging loudly, Xephos immediatly charged inside, looking around the room pleadingly. He didn't want to believe what the note said, the man he loved could not be gone. Why had Xephos not told him sooner, and why did he hide it? It's not like he had anything to lose.

As he found another door that led to the bedroom, Xephos charged once again. But this time the door swung open with ease, and the sight Xephos saw... He wasn't ready, no matter how much he wanted to be.

The window hung open, a brisk breeze pushing against the thin curtains, making them sway softly. A sense of coldness filled the air around Xephos as a sudden chill came over him. However, what he saw lying on the floor, would haunt his life forever.

"Man murdered in tragic work incident? Or more?"

The man whos picture was printed upon the front cover, was none other than the loving farmer that infactuated Xephos with merely his smile.

"A member of the infamous dirt producing company, Sipsco, was found dead this morning. His boss, owner of the company, told that the man had been working a night shift when he found his dead body on the workplace floor. Though, investigators have taken the boss into questioning, upon hearing this."

The date on the newspaper was for two years ago.

Then it all fell into place. Why Xephos was the only person able to hear Sjin when he shouted, why nobody believed him when he said Sjin was upset, and why Simon had shaken his head, placed a hand upon Xephos' shoulder and looked at him with pity when he had spoken Sjin's name.

Attached to the paper was a stickly note, italics marking the flouresant yellow.

"I love you."

I could have done so much better with this but.. *shrugs* Mehhhhhhhhh, whatever.
