Ky Lin sat in the Library, where she decided to spend her day. She found it yesterday after lunch and didn't leave until Ozai requested her late at night. She was fascinated by the many books that cover the shelves, some even on tables. She was curled up in a chair currently reading a little love story when she felt a stare. Looking up, the soon-to-be queen made eye contact with Azula. "Hello, Princess. Can I help you with something?"

"What are you reading?"

"A book,"

"Why have spent the last two days in here?"

"Because I love reading and I can."

The young princess stared at the woman, remembering each detail of her face. She knew Ky Lin was young by the youth in her eyes. "Why won't you play with me?"

"Princess, you have friends who are here from the moment you get home from the academy until dinner time. Why would you need me?"

Princess Azula pouted before continuing her argument, "But Mai and Ty Lee are busy today so no one is here to play."

Ky Lin closed her book. She didn't want to argue with an 12-year-old girl. "Azula, I would love to, but your father granted me permission to have lunch with my family. I'm sure you're welcome to come. "

Azula crossed her arms, "You're apart of the royal family now. You shouldn't converse with peasants."

The woman stood, readying to leave the room and conversation, "Well when I marry your father, I will be. But as for now, I am a peasant."

She walked away after saying that, heading towards her shared chambers with Fire Lord Ozai. She was going to change out of the maroon and gold robe Ozai had made for her into something more comfortable. While passing the throne room, a servent stopped her. "Lady Ky Lin, the Fire Lord would like to see you."

She turned and walked into the room, wondering why he was requesting her. It seems he only requested to see her, only once had he gone to see her on his own will. He always made her to him. Once at the bottom of the stairs, she bowed down. "Yes, my Lord?"

"Call me Ozai, my love."

She only nodded. "Are you ready to leave the palace, Ky Lin?" he asked her.

She looked up at him, she could barely make out his figure through the flames. "I was going to change, into something more casual.." she trailed off.

"Nonsense. You look like the royalty you're going to become."

She didn't object, not wanting to anger him. "Of course, Ozai. How silly of me."

She didn't like that she couldn't put on her usual clothes, they were far more comfortable for her to wear.

"We'll be leaving soon, gather Azula and wait with the gaurds by the door."

She again only nodded to the figure behind the flames before being dismissed. She walked out to see none other than the princess herself standing right there. "Azula, we're leaving. You're father requested we wait by the door with the gaurds."

Azula huffed, but didn't object what orders her father gave. She followed behind the young woman. "Why do we have to?"

"Because I want to see my family." Ky Lin answered.

"But we're you're family now."

"But you didn't raise me, did you?"

Azula didn't answer, not really having one. Or just not wanting to say anything. The yellow-eyed woman couldn't tell. Though Azula was going to become her daughter, she noticed how she almost resented her. Azula's attitude was much like her fathers, raidiant of raw power and knowledge. Azula looked like Lady Ursa, as far as Ky Lin could remember. She couldn't remember much, as she was young and never played near the palace. What she can remember was that Lady Ursa had a genuine and gentle look to her. There was something in the princess's eyes though that was her direct link to Fire Lord Ozai.

After an awkward but short carriage ride, they were at Ky Lin's childhood home. A bright smile crossed her face as she looked next to her at Ozai. He was already looking at her, reading her facial expressions. "Are you ready?" he asked the woman.

She nodded quickly and waited for someone to open the door. As soon as a gaurd did, she nearly lept out. She couldn't contain her excitement, she hasn't seen her family in 3 days. The gaurd helped her down and next the Fire Lord and Princess Azula. A boy with black hair and the same eyes as the soon-to-be queen came running out. "Ky Lin! You're back!"

The woman met the young boy halfway, and picked him up before the guards would hurt him for getting to close. She hugged him close to her. "Heya, Niyu. I'm here for lunch."

She turned to face the royal family and motioned them to come closer. Niyu starred at them in awe, for they looked so perfect. Even his older sister did. "Fire Lord Ozai and Princess Azula, this is my brother, Niyu."

Her parents came out of the medium-to-large sized house and smiled so warmly towards the site of their children. They bowed at the presence of their ruler, staying knelt down. Ky Lin looked at Ozai, almost as if to beg for them to stand. "You may rise," he spoke after a long moment.

The woman took quick steps toward her parents and embraced them still with Niyu in her arms. Ozai studdied her movements; each step she took, each word she spoke. Her smile never left her soft lips, her eyes still glowing with excitement.

They sat around a long mahogany table in what the Fire Lord assumed was the dining hall. His daughter sat at this right side, looking rather bored with what was going on. His almost wife sat to his left, still holding her brother in her arms. He was barely listening to what was being said as he observed her. He took notice to the way the young boy on her lap was making the same faces, showing that he spent most of his time by his sisters side. He saw the way she tickled her brother slightly making him through his head back in laughter. The mothers words brought him out of his trance. "Lunch is ready!"

Ozai took notice to the large spread of food, that didn't look like what a commoner would make. Two whole roasted ducks, a rather large bowl of rice, with steamed carrots and broccoli. Even Azula stared with shock at the arrangement set in front of her. Ky Lin leaned over to Ozai's ear, "My grandfather father was a navel chef," she whispered, "He taught my mother how to cook amazing meals."

The father handed Ozai the carving blade for the duck with such a genuine smile, "My Lord, will you do the honors?"

After lunch, Ky Lin helped her mother clean up. Niyu sat where his sister had, staring up at the Fire Lord. Ozai moved his site down to the boy, his stare reminding him of the woman that he was marrying. "It's not nice to stare,"

Niyu dropped his gaze, slightly embarrassed. "I'm sorry, my lord."

All attention moved to Ky Lin when she walked in. Niyu ran to his sister as she picked him up. Ozai kept memory of all her movements, slightly noting she has a way with children, and would look good with a child of her own on her hip. Her gaze met his and her face tinted pink. Though there were no words, she could tell what he was thinking.
