It's been a month since Ky Lin was under the Fire Lords roof, spending most her days dwindling in the royal library, reading her little heart away. She could feel her body changing in such short time. The feeling of creating life was already in her heart, her skin was already glowing. She had once read in one of her mothers old scrolls about pregnancy that it should mean she's going to have a bender. That thought alone made Ky Lin's heart swell with joy.

She was going to make her future husband proud. The child she was going to bear wouldn't be taken from her, she would be able to raise it. Ky Lin knew that, even though it wasn't said, that her child had to be a fire bender. Ozai would accept nothing less.

"Ky Lin," his voice startled her, "Come with me."

She turned to face him, a small smile on her face. "Where are you taking me now, My Lord?"

Through out the month, Ozai was showing her the palace gardens, lakes, and mazes. This was his way of gaining her trust, of getting Ky Lin to love and desire him. He knew that the young women adored the beauty the gardens held. He smiled towards the girl, "To the gardens, my bride. There's still so much for you to see, and for us to talk about."

Ozai held his hand out for Ky Lin, hoping she'd take it. He understood why she help her skepticism, but it was wearing thin on his patience. She did take his hand, all be it slowly, as not to anger him.

He started to lead her out the door, but instead of turning right like he always does, he went left. "Um, My Lord? Where are we going?"

"I have some thing very special to show you. Just come along."

Ky Lin just nodded and let the older man drag her along behind him. To her, this was a new part of the palace she could explore. Her bright yellow eyes looked at anything she could. She took in the tapestry, the neat and organized decorations such as a few large, dark red vases with bamboo reeds in them. A few reeds had flags with dates sewed in tied around them. On some tables were the different flowers of the fire nation, and a few imported from the different nations.

Then she noticed the tapestries hanging were painted on, and the pictures were wedding pictures of the royal family. 'Oh?' she thought as they stopped at an empty table with a door beside it. Slowly, Ky Lin turned to face Ozai. "What is this table for, My Lord?" she asked.

"This will be a display on our wedding. A tapestry will be hung, and your flowers will be enchanted and placed here."

"And what's behind the door?"

"You're always filled with so many questions, my dear," but Ozai smiled anyway. "I remember a guard saying you didn't quite like any of the dresses from your shopping trip, which I found to be such a shame."

"I'm sorry, sir."Ky Lin looked down at her feet.

He lifted her chin and shook his head, "You're going to be royalty. Carry yourself with more pride."

"Yes, sir."

"I had a few personal stylists create a few dresses based off of what you said you wanted."

"Oh, Ozai... You didn't have to go to those lengths, it's just a dress-"

Ky Lin was cut off by Ozai placing a finger to her lips, "You're marrying the Fire Lord. You can have absolutely anything you wish for. You can tell the the planner exactly what you want and it will be done"

She only nodded. She was surprised that someone who she knew didn't actually love her would go through the lengths to make her happy. Ky Lin thought she was just a pawn in his game, another piece on the board that he was moving around.

"Thank you, then."

He grabbed a hold of her hand again, this time pulling her into the room. The room had 10 dresses following exactly what she wanted, all slightly different then the next. They were all so beautiful. Ky Lin placed her free hand over her mouth as gasped, "Oh.. Oh, Spirits... They're all so perfect."

"Only the best for the queen to be. Now, go on take a look around. You don't have to pick today, but you should look at them all and consider what you truly want."

Ky Lin let go of Ozai's hand, and stepped forward to inspect the dresses in front of her. They all seemed to be made with silk, sheer, and/or lace, and were a beautiful deep red shade. Most were strapless, most had a corset top with a golden pattern embroidered into them. Some had gold ribbons laced in the back, some had black ribbons. She was beyond overwhelmed with what was in front of her.

She started to walk around and pay attention to the key details of each dress. She was hoping to find exactly what she wanted, even if she was marrying someone who she thought didn't love her.

Ozai's eyes seemed to watch her every move, taking in the way the young womans eyes danced over the details, taking in the details of the way she was thinking. With his first wife, he didn't stick around to watch her pick anything. He was too busy, and didn't take interest in Ursa thought about her wedding.

He never thought he'd see someone as beautiful as Ursa ever was again, no one ever seemed to match her looks. Or the kindness in her heart that he never had. But Ky Lin... Ky Lin was almost a match for beauty and purity. He could almost see himself warming up to her. But he didn't think he could ever love Ky Lin like how he came to love Ursa.

While the Fire Lord was busy stuck in his own mind, he hadn't noticed that she stopped in front of a certain dress. It was strapless, of course a deep red, the gold embroidery on the corset had a delicate design, and golden ribbon laced in the back, and the fitted skirt of the dress was layered with silk and a sheer fabric. She absolutely loved it. "This one." she spoke.

Ozai brought his attention back to her, and her dresses. He took notice of the dress and nodded. "Very well. If you ever change your mind, you can pick from the others."

Ky Lin turned to face him, "I won't change my mind but thank you."

"Now about our walk about the gardens..." he smiled, and held his handout again.

Walking toward him, she held the same smile as she his hand again. "That would be nice, Ozai."

He pulled her closer to him and placed a kiss to her temple.

'I might not love her yet, but she's still mine.' he thought as the existed the room. This time, he took her straight to the gardens.
