Her hair glistens under the building's lights as she looks at me with a strange glint in her eyes. The girl is pretty and despite having just seen her, I feel a strange connection.

The door shuts, bringing back my attention. I turn my gaze back to the man standing beside the glass desk.

I try to sit perfectly still. Being one of the few people on Earth who remember, I am nervous about what might happen during this meeting. I have witnessed the bold power they hold; the destruction and terror they can inflict.

Lieutenant Lance paces the office, staring down at his feet. The tension between us grows as he begins clenching and unclenching his fists. He is a broad man with curly black hair. His left arm bearing a red scar, from the elbow to wrist.

When he finally speaks I am startled from my stupor.

"You are in the Recall Task Enforcement  training. Is that correct?"

"Yes, Sir," I answer immediately. My nervous anticipation increases as he continues.

"And as I am told, you have the best rankings of all of those in your sector." He looks at me for an answer.

"Well, I wouldn't say that I'm the best, but I guess I'm decent." I say, cautiously.

"Come now, don't be modest. You must be more than decent for Admiral Stockton to mention you to me personally," He says again.

I don't reply, waiting for him to reach his point. There has to be a reason for why I am here, besides the strange praise I am receiving.

"Thank you, Sir."

"Now, for the real reason I have called you here is because I would like to propose a deal with you. Despite your modesty, I know that you are more than exceptional at your job. This is why I am promoting you to the official officer of your sector. Do you accept this opportunity?" All I could do is sit there in shock.

"Yes. Yes Sir. Thank you." I stood.

"Congratulations and as your first official task, I need you to keep a close eye on someone special. Her name is Aidlyn Crest, age 19. We believe that she might be waking, but we can't be sure. We can't take any actions or precautions before we know."

I stand and shake hands with Lieutenant Lance and leave the room.
