My Eyes Are Open

The Meeting pt. 2

"Ok I guess." I said. Mini was so excited to meet me. "Um.... If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?" I asked. "Thirteen next month! I'm so excited!" He squealed. He hugged my arm tighter, almost cutting off the circulation.

"I have a game we can play!" He said.

"What is it?"

"Truth or dare!"

Oh no. What did I get myself into. I agreed to play with him. After a few rounds he asked me and I finally said dare.

"I dare you to kiss me!" He whispered.

THE HECK?! WHAT IS THIS LITTLE KID UP TO EVEN?!

"C'mon! Don't be a chicken!" He said. I gave him a small peck on the lips. "Yay! Now I can say I kissed the princess!" He got so excited over nothing. I yawned. He looked at me, straight in the eyes, and said, "If you're tired then you can take a nap. I don't mind if you do." He looked at me with a very serious face. His expression slowly turned into his biggest smile yet.

"I wouldn't want to disrupt my guest's fun though. I can stay awake." I said.

He sat down next to me and leaned my head on his shoulder. "Go to sleep, please." He whispered. He started humming a lullaby.

I woke up to see myself being cradled in the arms of my cousin.

"Good morning, Sunshine!" He said. "You were out for about an hour, and I got bored, so I thought I'd play with your hair." He said with a smile on his face. I sat up and saw that my hair, was in fact, French braided with a lot of braids. Is was almost cornrows. I gave a weak, forced smile.

"Thank you for taking care of me while I was asleep, Mini. I'll have to find some way to repay you."

"I know a way you can repay me, and even then some." He said.

"What is it? Money? A pet?" I asked.

"Court me." He said with a serious look. I was shocked. He wanted to start courting right after we first met?

"Can I have time to think about it?"

"Ok. That's fine. I'll come by tomorrow to hear your answer." He said. "We still have the rest of the day to be together, though!"

Anna came in and brought tea and sandwiches. "Here you go, your highness." She left.

(Mike's POV)

I walked down the hall to check up on them when I saw Anna walk my direction with an empty platter.

"What's happening?" I asked. She gave a cold look and walked past me.

I couldn't get past the fact that Valinque was to marry that child. He is not worthy. I want her to leave him and run into my arms. I love her. I want her to myself. Ever since I saw her sitting alone on her bed in her old bedroom, I've wanted to be there for her. Is that so wrong? I'll go check up on them now.

(Moira's POV again)

"Mini! Get off of me!" I said as Mini was play wrestling me on the ground. He finally won and gave me a kiss. Suddenly I heard the door open.

"Don't be alarmed princess. I've just come to check on y-" He stopped when he saw Mini on top of me.

"Mike, this isn't what it looks like. We were playing." I tried to explain, but it was no use. He had a look on his face that almost seemed like he'd been shot.
