""WHAT!" I replied, taken aback by his answer, "I thought those weren't real."

"Oh, they are definitely real", replied Adoteete, bitterness seeping into his voice, "They took my granddaughter away from me."

"Wait, hold up", said Sara, "What are Windigos?"

"Windigos are the worst beasts in all of the Mohawk's legends. They are cannibalistic monster that lure helpless victims off the path into their traps to be gorged upon. Those are the lucky ones too. The unlucky ones are possessed and transformed into Windigos themselves", Adoteete told us.

"FINE!" screamed Sara, "I'm going"

Then she stormed off to the dusky forest.

"Sissie come back, now!" I demanded in a mocking voice.

Sara didn't stop for the jibe. She just kept walking.

"Okay, okay", I cried, "I'm sorry!"

Sara didn't show any sign of emotion as she disapeared in to the murky darkness of the woods.

All of the sudden I hear a bloodcurdling scream...
