After Jinelle got ready, she walked into Sophia's nursery. She grabbed the dress that Vivianne had laid out for Sophia and got Sophia ready.
Tonight is the 6 month anniversary of her parents death, and the Coven is celebrating. No one except Vivianne, Adrian, Zach, Zeidan, and Bellatrix knows what happened.
Vivianne had tried to call it off, and Jinelle was grateful, but the Coven had been so stubborn that Vivianne didn't stand a chance.
So alas, here she is, at the top of the staircase, holding her child. Zachaes comes up behind her and snakes an arm around her waist. "Are you ready, love?" He asks.
Jinelle hesitantly nods and walks down the stairs into the ballroom.
The Coven's color is emerald green, so all of the women are dressed for the occasion.
Jinelle still feels out of place when in large parties in the Coven, because she is a werewolf surrounded by vampires. Her emotions are all over the place, because she still loved her parents, but Cosmina does not. Cosmina only sees in absolutes and is not overruled by emotions. When the human can't handle things, Cosmina takes over. She feels betrayed and Jinelle isn't sure if Cosmina will ever forgive her parents.
"Are you okay Jinelle?" Jinelle hears Adrian ask, but it seems distant.
Jinelle automatically nods and walks over to a table, then sits down with Sophia on her lap. She absentmindedly starts humming her favorite song to Sophia.
"What are you singing?" She hears a female voice behind her.
Jinelle turns to see Jenova smiling down at her. Jinelle smiles back and gestures toward a chair. Jenova sits and turns toward Jinelle.
"It's a song from my childhood," Jinelle says nostalgically.
"It must be hard, with the Coven celebrating your parents' death," Jenova bites the inside of her cheek, out of habit.
Jinelle nods. "But I do need to move on. What they did to me is inexcusable, and they paid for it with their lives."
"What did they do to you?"
"They locked me, yes, locked me in my room. I had zero freedom and the only friend I had was my older brother, Zeidan."
"That's awful! I don't know what I would do if I were in that situation."
"Hello Ladies," they hear a voice from behind them.
Both turn to see a man from the Coven standing behind Jinelle's chair.
"May I have this dance?" He says to no one in particular.
Jinelle and Jenova look at each other, seeming as if they are talking silently.
Jenova reaches for Sophia and takes her from Jinelle.
"I'll watch her," Jenova smiles reassuringly.
Jinelle hesitantly nods and stands up from her chair.
Zach
Yes, love?

WHAT?!
Good heavens, don't scream! A guy came and asked one of us to dance, and Jenova's pregnant, and I understand. I could hardly be on my feet too long.
There is silence through the bond and Jinelle can tell that Zach is thinking.
How am I supposed to be worried about Sophia when there is going to be a guy with his hands on you?
