Chapter 5

Chorong looked deeply into the picture "what does that mean?" "what are you doing?" Chorong jumped from shock and saw Jungkook's calm face as he faced her while crossing his arms on his chest.

"I was just looking at this-" "go to bed" Jungkook spoke sternly. Chorong walked into the guest room "okay dad" she muttered under her breath with an irritated tone. Who is he to tell her what to do? Her dad? As if.

"But who was the lady in the portrait was she also in a fairy tale, I'm so investigating on that later. Just you wait Jungkook" Chorong laid down on the bed. She just stared at the ceiling "if she was a character from a fairy tale, what fairy tale is she from? She doesn't look familiar at all" the thought slowly got her tired and she eventually fell asleep.

Jungkook ,on the other hand, was just outside her door. Staring at the portrait of the lady, tears streamed slowly down Jungkook's cheeks. "No one can know yet my love" Jungkook touched the portrait "No one shall know the painful past yet". He then wiped his tears with his sleeves and walked to his room. But before he got there, he glanced at Moonbin snoring loudly, deeply sleeping. He chuckled a bit and walked to his room.

Jungkook picked up a very large and thick book entitled 'the book of fairy tales' then gently opened it. He scanned it from 'Beauty and the Beast' to 'The Little Mermaid'. There were so many blank spaces in the stories, whoever did it must have had strong magic to even get rid of the maidens. Jungkook sighed "why was I given the responsibility? I'm just a rabbit in Alice in Wonderland! Why couldn't they just have given it to a Mad Hatter than a time conscious Rabbit?" he closed the book again and began planning the entire day of tomorrow.

Suddenly, there was a knock on his door. "Is Chorong still awake?" he muttered "Come in!" then Moonbin came in. "Jungkook-shi" he said "Oh, what is it Moonbin?"Jungkook faced Moonbin then fixed his glasses. "How old are you?" Moonbin asked "I'm 20" said Jungkook Moonbin nodded. "Okay Jungkook hyung" Moonbin smiled awkwardly. "What do you need Moonbin?" Jungkook asked.

"I just need to ask something" said Moonbin "okay, fire away" said Jungkook. "If Chorong and I go back to the real world then will I return to being a stuffed toy?" Moonbin's eyes had hope written on them but Jungkook had to say the truth. "I'm sorry Moonbin but yes, you turned human because of a fairy tale in THIS world you can't be human in both worlds" answered Jungkook.

"What about you hyung? If you go to the real world-" "I'll become a rabbit again" Jungkook finished Moonbin's sentence. "Why hyung?" he asked, Jungkook sighed deeply "there's no magic in the real world, and magic is the reason why both of us are human. Only Chorong an be human without magic" Jungkook explained. "Okay thanks hyung, I'll go back to the soft mattress there" Moonbin smiled while thinking of the mattress again.

"Wait Moonbin" Jungkook called Moonbin "What is it hyung?" Moonbin asked "Do you want to hear a story? This is the fairy tale world after all" Jungkook said. Moonbin nodded "When Chorong was a kid, she always told me stories about her day but she doesn't since she grew up". Jungkook smiled "you're a very trustworthy person Moonbin, so it's okay for me to tell you this story".

"Once upon a time, Everyone was happy in Wonderland as they had a tea party with the Mad Hatter. It had been a few years since Alice left and everyone was missing her dearly. Luckily, she had popped in during the tea party with a good friend of hers.

Her name was Zelda, odd name I thought, but I suited her well. Her appearance was very similar to that of Chorong's but her personality was very bubbly and lovely. She was kind to everyone and everything, including animals like me, and everyone loved her. But a certain rabbit was too in love with her that he became desperate for her."

"What did he do?" Moonbin asked with a whisper.

"He went to a witch that lived underwater, she was actually half-octopus, and begged her to make him human but she said "there was a catch in taking my spells, and it will only last 3 days" and the rabbit asked "anything, I'll take it" then the witch turned him human but he couldn't speak.

The rabbit returned to Wonderland and searched for Zelda. He was happily walking around as a human but was very new to it. Once he found Zelda, he wrote on a piece of paper telling her he was mute but she was fine with it, that's how kind she was. 3 passed and they both fell in love but he returned to being a rabbit and Zelda wasn't a character from any fairy tale written in the books unlike the rabbit. Plus, Zelda loved him even if he was a rabbit.

The rabbit loved Zelda dearly but the Queen said she can't stay in the fairy tale world unless she creates a story of her own. The rabbit was deeply in love with Zelda so he said "I shall write a story for Zelda so she can stay" but the story was not accepted by the Queen so Zelda died within the fairy tale world.

The rabbit grew sad then learned magic of his own, after he turned himself human again, he painted a portrait of Zelda but the water he used for the paint was his own tears of sorrow. Ever since then, the rabbit learned that love was dangerous for one or the other. The End".

"Hyung" Moonbin said "are you alright?" he asked. Tears were forming in Jungkook's eyes and just nodded "yes I'm fine". "Hyung, you were the rabbit in the story right. Is that why you're warning Chorong not to fall in love with any of the princes?" Moonbin asked and Jungkook nodded "yes, that's true. I don't want another human to die in the fairy tale world".

"Is Zelda the last portrait at the end of the hall?" Jungkook nodded "In the story I wrote, she was a princess. She was my beloved princess. When she died,I wanted to follow her but I was too scared to kill myself" Jungkook said.

"Hyung, but still, what if Chorong finds a way to stay? What if she writes a story that will be accepted by the Queen? Would she be able to stay?" Moonbin asked "If that happens then maybe. But for the meantime, we need to be cautious. We need her to finish these stories within a month and leave or else she'll die in this world too" Jungkook wiped away his tears.

"Moonbin, you should go get some rest. We have many things to do tomorrow" Jungkook's voice was shaking. "Hyung, nothing is impossible. I may have been just a stuffed toy but I know everything is possible. We just need to believe it is possible" Moonbin left Jungkook's room and Jungkook burst into tears as he cried on his desk.

The Next day.........

Chorong woke up early in the morning and fixed her hair. She left the room and knocked on Jungkook's door. When it opened Chorong asked "Jungkook, are you okay? Your eyes, they're-" "charming, I already knew that" Jungkook finished her sentence sarcastically but Chorong ignored it "did you cry last night?" Jungkook shook his head "what makes you think that?" "your eyes are a dead give-away, it's obvious" Chorong answered.

"Nevermind me, just go wake up Moonbin and-" "you called me?" Moonbin who popped out of nowhere was awake early and was very hyper. "Um..... nevermind" Jungkook said "you know guys, I just realized the ball for Jimin's bride picking is still tomorrow and the sixteenth birthday thing is still the day after that, so we can rest today" Jungkook yawned and was about to close the door but Chorong stopped the door with her foot.

"You tell me about the last painting in the hallway first" she glared at him as she spoke. Jungkook and Moonbin exchanged glances and then they both said "No" Jungkook immediately closed the door and Moonbin ran away somewhere.

"Aish these two.....wait Yah! Jungkook-ah! You told Moonbin but not me?! You unfair rabbit" Chorong punched Jungkook's door repeatedly until Jungkook got annoyed and opened up the door. "Thank you!" She pulled Jungkook out of his room so he couldn't close the door on her anymore.

"Fine, don't tell me who the lady is at least please make breakfast, I'm hungry" Chorong pouted and Jungkook said "fine whatever, as long as you stop bugging me about the portrait". Chorong smiled and yelled "Moonbin-ah" then began searching for him wherever he was.

Jungkook sighed "if I told you, desperation would blind you too".
