Love, loss, pain.
Those are three words that do not belong in the same sentence but for me, Adele Adkins, that's how it happened, as I look back on our love, our story, my heart breaks and it hurts.
You left, I lost you and that's just how it went.
Now all that is left of us is pictures,
Polaroid pictures.
29th June 2012
"Simon Konecki! Get your butt down here, I've been ready for ages!" I yell at my boyfriend of just over a year up the stairs.I hear him grunt back at me and roll my eyes. I walk to the mirror we have by the door and look at my appearance.
A flippin massive messy bun in my hair, a bit of natural makeup, no wing surprisingly. Of course a black loose fitted top and a black leggings.
I'm going for pure comfort tonight for this event.
As I slip on my flats I feel his arms wrap around my waist and I smile.
I turn around and peck him on the lips before swiftly walking to the living room to grab my phone and purse.
When I turn around to walk back over to him, he is tapping his foot impatiently and looking at his watch, jokingly.
I scoff at him and he looks up at me.
"You're the one who was taking ages to get ready Konecki." I say as I walk past him and open the door.
He slaps my butt as we walk to our car and I squeal in surprise, he chuckles and I flip my middle finger up at him.
I jump into the passenger side and Simon gets into the drivers side and starts up the car.
I turn the radio on and sing quietly to the song that's currently playing.
"My girl has a set of lungs on her." Simon says as he stares out at the road ahead of us.
"Well thanks babe." I say, getting embarrassed like I do every time he compliments my voice.
The rest of the drive to the event is spent the same way, the radio quite low, me singing softly and Simon admiring me silently.
When I notice that we're pulling up to the hotel I switch the radio off and wait for Simon to find a parking spot.
"Are you nervous?" I ask him as he looks around the parking lot.
"About finding a sparking spot? Totally." He says sarcastically and I roll my eyes.
"No dimwad, about the event." I say and he chuckles at my insult.
"I know babe and no, it's only a relaxed thing. Are you nervous?" He asks and I shake my head no as he pulls into a space that's like smack bang in the middle of the place.
He switches the car off and hops out quickly, I grab my purse and phone but just as I'm about to open the door, Simon does it for me.
"Well thanks Si." I say and he laughs.
"Anything for my lady friend." He says, joking.
"You haven't called me that since our 3rd date, please don't start again." I say as I take his hand.
We walk up the entrance and just as we step in the door there's a guy with a camera, immediately Simons hand goes around my waist and I awkwardly smile as he takes our picture.
He then takes another one as Simon kisses my cheek.
I blush furiously as the man hand us the two pictures.
Polaroids that I will cherish forever of this wonderful night.
Hi. Hello. Welcome. I unpublished the first chapter of this book as I wanted to publish two chapters each time I update this one. This is going to be a relatively short book and once I've finished this I'll be starting the run series. Enjoy xx
