Chapter 1: The Past is in the Past

Bella's POV
The year is 1862. My twin brother Jasper and I just turned eighteen. I am older though, just by a couple of minutes, but just enough to call him my little brother and he hates it. We are Texan born and raised. I call him Chance all the time because he loves to take his chances weather on a bet or anything else. The only way to tell we are twins is by our age, eye color, and if ya know us. We look almost nothing alike. I am pretty short. Coming up at five foot six. I have brown eyes and chocolate brown hair with a tint of red. I have pale skin and have taken an interest in nursing. I love being able to help people.

Jasper's POV
Izzy and myself just turned 18. I was only born two minutes after her and she thinks she can go around telling people that I am her little brother. I look like I'm two or three years older than her. I stand at a whopping six foot two. I have honey blond hair that goes down to my shoulders. My hair is curly which my sister loves. She wants my curls so bad. My eyes are a deep chocolate brown. I get really tan in the summer unlike Izzy. She is as white as a ghost all year round. We are Texan born and raised so I don't know why she doesn't. I call Isabella 'Izzy' because she hates her full name. I'm the only one who is allowed to call her that. Same with her calling me Chance. Everyone calls her Bells or Bella. Some people call me Jaz but most people just call me Jasper. My sister looks like she is small but she can hold her own alright. Same with myself. When we were younger I use to have children bully me at school. Izzy would always kick their ass. She didn't look like it but she had muscle. She would always beat me when it came to picking up somethin heavy. She also had a back bone like no other woman I had ever met. When mama had gotten sick she took on mama's jobs, schoolin, and her normal chores. She always took so much onto herself but she always said she would have to be by herself one day. Mama always got onto her, but she never listened. That is another thing that we have in common. We are both hard headed. Needless to say we got that from Paw.
