Chapter 4: The Whitlock Coven

70 Year Time Jump

Bella's POV
After I had lived up north for several decades I decided it was time to go back down south. I made my way back down to Galveston and realized there was now a monument for the fallen soldiers for the Civil War. I looked down the colloum and found his name. 'Major Jasper Whitlock- 1863'. I sat down next to the monument and dry sobbed. I still had not gotten over my brothers murder. I was still sobbing when a hand touched my shoulder. I flinched away not hearing foot steps over my weeping. "What's amatter sugar", a woman's voice asked. Remembering my cover story I said " my great grandpa fought in the civil war and my father just passed away reminding me of him", I said. She sat down beside me and held me while I sobbed. "Why are you being so nice to me?", I asked. I looked up to see her eyes were the same golden color as mine. "My husband told me I could find you here", she said. "How does your husband know about me?", I asked. "He has a knower, a gift of sorts, even though he says he just knows shit", she said making me laugh a bit. "You will need our help to find your answers", she said, "I'm Charlette by the way people call me char". "Isabella, but every one calls me Bella". "Ha we have a friend that his sisters name was Bella. Small world isn't it?", Char asks. "Yeah I guess so. What is your friends name?", I asked. "Major", she says. I froze. "L-Like the Major and Maria?", I asked. "Yes. I thought you said your great grandfather fought in the war. How did you know?", Char asks. Shit! I thought to myself. "That is the lie I tell people for my cover story", I said shyly, a bit scared of what she would do. "When were you created?", Char asks. "1863", I said. "That is the same time the Major was turned",Char says. "Peter, myself, and Major were all part of Maria's army. Major found out about Peter and I being mates and got us out and covered for us because Maria didn't allow mates in her army. They would be killed on the spot. Major saved us. Five years later we came back and brought him with us. We were then named the Whitlock Coven", Char explained. I was lost for words by the last name. "W-where did you get the name Whitlock from?", I asked while stuttering from shock. "Major's last name is Whitlock", Char said. My body tensed up and I could not move. Was Major, the Major of the southern armies my brother. Was Jasper the brutal killer that every one was deathly afraid of. I could see Char yelling at me and trying to shake me but it was like I was made of stone. I couldn't hear, smell, move, I could only see. Char stopped trying to shake me and pulled out a small silver object. I think it was called a cell phone. I wasn't for sure though. I had never had one. My body finally unfroze enough that I could hear Char saying "Peter we have a problem. I was talking 'bout Major and she froze up like ice. What do I do?". I could here a male on the other side saying " I'll be right there. Just make sure she stays with you". "Ok I will. Peter I love ya", Char said. "Love ya too darlin", the man said. Right then I looked at Char and everything went black.

Char's POV
I was talking to Peter and Bella looked at me. I was about to say something when she fell over. She had passed out. I had no idea what to do because it was physically impossible for vampires to pass out. Right as she hits the ground Peter comes out of the woods. "Char! What happened?", Peter asked me. "She froze up when I told her Major's last name was Whitlock. Then she passed out", I said panicked. Peter took Bella in his arms and ran with her to our house. I told him her name was Bella and Peter asked me," Wasn't Major's sister named Bella? What year was she turned?". "1864", I replied. "There is to much of a coincidence. Char, do you think that Bella could be Major's sister?", Peter asked. "I don't know", was all I could answer, "Is your knower tellin ya anything?". "All it is tellin me is that Bella needs to go up to Forks, Washington. She will find her answers there", Peter says.
Bella finally comes too and Peter and I have came up with an idea. We talk about our and her history. Peter and I tell Bella plan. We would go up along with her up north and help her. Peter had seen where Bella enrolls in high school and Peter acts as her older brother and me as his wife. The school is a big part but no one knows why. With our plan in place we packed up and moved north.
