Bella's POV
A vampire? No. Vampires don't exist. I kept telling myself this. Vampires don't exist, Vampires don't exist. "Well then what am I?", I said to myself. How do you describe the cold skin, how fast I move, how fluently I move, how I have the burning in the back of my throat, and how I murdered those three people just for their blood. "Oh good god I'm a vampire", I said to myself.

I looked around at my surroundings. I had no idea where I was. I ran until I found a wooden sign that said 'Galveston'. Well at least I'm still in Texas. Galveston was wear my brother was murdered. Anger raged inside me at the thought. I will kill who ever did this to my brother.

At this point I was aimlessly wondering around until I tripped on something. I looked down and saw a dead body. My body went ridged as I looked up and saw thousands of bodies. A lot of them had on the same uniform on as my brother. This was one of the battle grounds they had yet to clean up. I could smell all the blood. The venom was pooling in my mouth, but then I remembered that all of these men and boys had families. They didn't deserve to die like this or like a horrible monster, a spawn a the devil himself like myself. At that moment I decided I would not kill another human, I would find another food source.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw something move. I turned around and automatically got in a crouched position to defended myself. There was a young man maybe early twenties that walked out from the tree line. He had shaggy brown hair that barely covered his eyes if he moved just right. I could see his eyes were a golden color but had swirls of red in them. The man put his hands up as if to say he was surrendering, but I didn't relax very much. "Isabella, young one, you must escape the south. You must go up north. It is not safe with Maria and the Major in command", the man said. "How do ya know my name?", I asked. "Isabella, you musen't ask questions. I will give you answers right now that you need. Yes, you are a vampire. No, you do not age. Yes, there is another way of feeding. You can live off animal blood. You can not see your family. No humans can know about our kind. You cannot kill your self. Maria and the Major are the most feared vampires in the south. They are creating armies of newborns, like yourself, to fight for territory. The fights are brutal and almost every newborn dies. You will be safe up north. If you stick to the animal diet you will be able to be around humans. It will be difficult, but it will be worth it. You will have to move around a lot. You cannot be out in the sunlight around humans because you will expose yourself. Try to blend in as much as you can. And finally Isabella, I will keep watch over you from time to time and there will be a time when we will meet again. My name is Garret. Good Luck". And with that he was gone.

I had done what the man, Garret he said his name was, told me to do. I lived by myself, afraid that I would hurt someone. I lived off of animals. I started off in the top part of Maine. I would move every five to six years. I attended highschool until I would graduate and pretend to go to collage. Then would move. I had met several roage vampires that were just passing through. After a couple of times of doing high school I actually went to collage. I got my doctorate and had worked in hospitals all over the north. I had learned to have very good control over my thirst and fed regularly. I had worked as a nurse but just as before I would have to move often. I would switch between highschool, collage, and working at the hospitals. It was fun until I did the same pattern several times over.
In 1918 I had chosen to work in the hospital for that time. I had moved over to Chicago. I was working one day and I was walking down one of the halls, not watching where I was going, and I ran right into someone. I looked up and he was somethin. He was tall and blond. He was the new surgeon the hospital I worked at, had just hired. I made the mistake of looking into his eyes they were the same honey color as mine were. He also had the sickly sweet smell of a vampire, but he also had a woodsy smell to him. "I I'm sorry I wasn't looking where I was going. Dr. Cullen right?", I asked him. He smiled and nodded. "And you are?", he asked. "Dr. Whitlock", I answered back smiling. "Well Dr. Whitlock, I hope to make your acquaintance again some time in the near future. And please call me Carlisle", Carlisle said while winking at me knowing I would know know what he met by the 'Near Future'. "Very well Carlisle", I said while walking to my quadrant of the hospital. At least there was one other vampire that thought of human life as a nessesity and not a pleasure. One that enjoyed saving lives instead of taking them away.
