"Okay, let's go over it one more time."
"Yoongi, babe, we've already been over it seven times."
"But what if something happens?"
"We've been over that twelve times."
Yoongi sighed, still feeling uneasy about this situation. He couldn't shake the nervousness off, even after Jimin fixed him up. He also had to be sure the cops wouldn't turn on him as well. Why are they even helping? I don't deserve this. I don't deserve any of this. Jimin heard the sigh, and wrapped an arm around Yoongi's waist, kissing the top of his head. He, Yoongi, Jin, Namjoon, and four other cops were standing outside of a group of abandoned houses, just on the outskirts of the city. The other four cops were friends of Jimin's, so Yoongi figured he could trust them enough. I mean, one of them even talked to Yoongi like a civilized being instead of a dumb criminal, which was the way he was usually treated. This surprised him, and he supposed a little bit of trust wouldn't kill him. Some of these cops, however, weren't too happy about this situation. "Fuck, why do they always have to choose the scary places? Why can't bad guys hole up in a church or something?" Namjoon grumbled, and all the others looked over with concerned and "what-the-everliving-fuck" looks. "Why the hell would they be in a church? They're sinners, for Christ's sake." Jin retorted, and a debate arose between Namjin and the four others. According to Namjoon, the gang members were not sinners, just youth that had been led astray down the wrong path. Jin and the other cops agreed that they were, in fact, sinners, seeing as they had broken the laws of the church and the state.
Namjoon sometimes thought that he was the only open-minded person in the world, and sighed to himself as he lost the argument.
Jimin turned to Yoongi, who was looking up and down at the houses. He had never been to these locations before, but apparently the station got a tip that the gang moved their location to a more secluded spot. He didn't trust that tip, not one bit, but Jimin assured him that any tips were always checked for validity, and this one checked out. "Okay, everyone gather round." Jimin called, and the group formed a circle. "Okay, so Namjoon and Jin, you guys take the upstairs, you four, you guys handle the ground floor, and Yoongi and I will check basements, garages, and attics. We have three homes to look through. Don't turn your back on anything. Be careful." Everyone nodded, and walked up to the steps of the first house, weapons drawn.
The house, despite being empty, was still fully furnished. Dining room sets, couches, pianos... Damn, Yoongi thought. Why would someone leave all of this behind? He and Jimin walked up the stairs, one hand on a weapon, the other in each other's grasp. Jimin pulled down the ladder that led to the attic, and climbed first, scanning the area for the gang. "Nothing up here, except for an old rocking chair." Yoongi stood on the ladder, behind Jimin, looking over his shoulder. The chair, vacant, began to lean forwards and backwards. The pair shared a glance, and decided "Fuck this shit, ain't no horror movie", as Yoongi put it. There wasn't any commotion on the ground floor, so they figured no one was here. This house didn't have a basement, so their job was done for now. When they reached the ground floor, Jin came walking over. "While you two fairies were busy being scared by the attic, we checked the garage too. Nothing." He motioned to the group. "House number two!"
This house looked just the same as any other. It was relatively plain, and had minimal furniture compared to the last house. Again, the others checked the ground floor, and Yoongi & Jimin went to the attic. Nothing. Jimin was beginning to wonder if someone gave them false information. "This is weird." Jimin commented. "Right?" Yoongi was feeling the same way. They both found the door to the basement, and fumbled to find lighting. There were boxes, so many boxes. Old furniture, old jewelry, this space looked like an overcrowded storage unit.
"How are we ever going to get through this?"
Jimin sighed. "We could always split up." Yoongi was about to protest, but he cut him off.
"I don't want to either, but there's too much space to waste time."Yoongi figured Jimin was right. "Fine. Be careful please!" Jimin nodded and smiled at Yoongi, reassuring him that everything would be okay.
Jimin took one side, and Yoongi took the other, even though neither of them really wanted to split up. After a couple of seconds, Jimin heard a girlish scream coming from the other side, and the sound of footsteps running up the stairs. He figured Yoongi found his first basement spider; he was terrified of them, explaining why he ran up the stairs. But why would he leave without him? "Hey, Yoongi, wait up!" Jimin called as he ran up the stairs and shut the door after him.
What Jimin didn't know was that:
Yoongi was still in the basement,
that scream was not his,
and he had a gun held to his head,
a gloved hand covering his mouth.
Suddenly, everything went black.
