"You piece of shit, can't you do anything right?"
Yoongi had to turn away; he couldn't bear to watch him do this again. There was nothing he could do about it, not unless he hoped for more scars. So, he held his tongue, and held his head between his hands.
"Since you can't do it, Suga will."
He rose his head in surprise. He never agreed to that, but he couldn't exactly say that to him.
"Tell me what to do."
The object of the task was to find an officer as a target. They were hunting down the police force, one by one, until this city was rid of justice. Now, it was his gang's turn. The officer of assignment: Park Jimin. Now, Jimin wasn't an officer yet; he wasn't even sixteen. Through the grapevine, they learned about Jimin's intentions of becoming a cop, and heard about his raw talent and brilliance when it came to detective work.
Yoongi already knew what he looked like; he saw him not even a year ago hanging out in the city with some of his friends. He seemed like a nice kid, surely they didn't have to hurt one of the genuinely good ones? This must be a mix-up, Yoongi thought. Much to his dismay, this pick was intentional.
A few nights later, Yoongi found himself stalking Jimin, trying to find a chance to get him alone. So many thoughts were swimming through his mind, but the only one that prevailed was the one of fear- what he would do if Yoongi failed.
He watched Jimin walk out of a store with two other males, undoubtedly friends of his. They bid him farewell, and Jimin was left to walk back to his car in solidarity. Yoongi's moment had to be now.
He ran up to Jimin, covered his mouth, and dragged him into a nearby alley. Jimin didn't even resist, which was strange. Yoongi expected the younger to be weak, his frame was small and excessively thin. What he wasn't expecting, however, was a bite from the younger and a hard punch to the face.
"There's a special place in hell for people like you."
The younger threw another punch, but Yoongi caught his hand before he could do anything. "Don't do this, kid." he warned, truthfully not wanting to hurt the other. Of course, Jimin didn't listen, so Yoongi had to at least put up a fight.
It was back and forth, punches and kicks and harsh words thrown in succession, blood creeping onto each other's faces. Finally, Yoongi had Jimin pinned to the ground, and was about to knock him out, but stopped. Instead, he grabbed the necklace around his neck and snapped it, stuffing it in his pocket for later.
"Look, they'll be here soon, so you need to go. I'll make it seem like you got away, but please, just go." Yoongi half mumbled to himself and to Jimin, hoping that the younger would take the notion to get up and run.
Thankfully, he did.
Yoongi had the worst night out of them all, faced with a brutal punishment that left him unable to move, when he found out that Jimin had escaped Yoongi's grasp.
He took it all in stride though, knowing that at least, for now,
he had saved Park Jimin.
