"It's been five hours, we've watched the footage millions of times and we can't find anything whatsoever." Artemis complained plopping backwards into a chair.
"Master Richard, Superman is coming." Alfred tells us. "Does he know we're here?" Kaldur asked pulling me closer to him protectively. "Yes." A new voice said from behind us. We all turned around and saw Superman.
"Now turn over the murder you harbour." He commanded pointing his finger at me. "No." Kaldur said standing in front of me. "No." Robin said standing in front of me as well. "No." Said Roy joining the teens. "No." Said M'gann. "No." Said Superboy. "No." Wally and Artemis said at the same time.
They would all do this for me. "Then you're just a bunch of traitors. Even you Superboy. I would expect more from you." Superman said and that was a real blow. I saw M'gann put a arm around Connor soothingly.
"If you don't give her up I will have to take her by force." Superman gave us one last chance. "You can try." Robin scoffed. I smiled the slightest bit. "So be it." Superman responded and flew at us. I jumped out of the way as Kaldur and Superboy faced him head on. Roy and Artemis loaded their bows and shot superfoam in an attempt to subdue the hero but to no avail. Wally was rooming around the cave throwing rocks and other things at Superman while M'gann was trying to pin him with her telekinesis. Robin was somewhere and I was fighting Superman with Kaldur. The strongest metal on earth as an arm really helped.
"Vertis get out of here!" Kaldur said while he was fighting. "Absolutely not!" I responded dodging a punch. "Move!" Robin's voice said and I leaped out of the way. Robin held kryptonite in his hand and Superman stumbled. So did Superboy.
"Robin! You'll kill him!" M'gann shouts worriedly as Connor collapsed. Just as Superman grew unconscious Wonder Woman, Hawkman and Hawkwoman flew into the cave. "Oh no." I said as they landed and armed themselves. "As much as I hate to admit it, we're so screwed." Wally said and I couldn't help but agree with him.
"Don't think that." Kaldur said as they advanced. We all got ready. "Come on Kaldur. Think! Wally is right. If we want to win this battle then some of us will have to lose it." Roy said holding up his bow and shooting an arrow at Hawkman. He just deflected it and continued walking forward. We were all slowly inching back step by step but soon we wouldn't be able to move.
"Here's the plan. We try to defeat them. We will not plan something where half of us get out. It's all of us or no one." Kaldur said firmly. That's when Wonder Woman decided to charge. I focused on Hawkwoman and started fighting her in hand-to-hand combat. She swung her mace at me and i tried to block it with my vibranium limb but it clipped my side, throwing me to the wall. Robin rushed over to me and I waved him off. "We need a better plan." I said to him.
Okay. New plan. Robin said via M'gann's telepathy. Our goal is to get Vertis out of here. I will serve as a distraction and get Vertis to a escape vehicle. Kaldur commanded. I'm not helpless you know. I argued with him but Robin glanced at me and I stopped. You can't stop three leaguers by yourself Kaldur. Wally thought.
I'll stay too. Superboy volunteered. If your staying, so am I. M'gann thought. Okay. On the count of three, Wally you grab Artemis and we will rendezvous you know where. Robin thought and I looked at him confused.
Wait you mean- Wally's thought was cut off. Yes there. Robin confirmed. What about us? Roy asked. We will take the bat plane. Robin said gesturing to a helicraft on the the other side of the room. Let's get to work. Kaldur thought and we all sprang into action.
Roy, Robin and I dashed to the bat plane and Wally sped out of the batcave, Artemis in his arms. "I'll see you again someday Kaldur." I said as I passed him. "I'm counting on it." He smiled and began fighting Hawkman again. Superboy, M'gann and Kaldur did their job. Soon we were on our way to the rendezvous point.
