I looked down at the baby in my arms as everyone awed when Loki said the names. I rolled my eyes slightly; they had just heard the names. Michael had opened his eyes then kept blinking until he adjusted to the light. I smiled softly as he looked up at me with familiar chocolate brown eyes. My smile turned into a smirk as I nudged Loki.
"Looks like you got your wish." I whispered to her. She looked up at me to figure out what I was talking about. I moved Michael around in my arms so she could see him.
"He's got your eyes." She breathed out, a soft smile on her face. I looked into her eyes and got lost in the mesmerizing color. Loki kissed me softly, holding Colleen closer. "Your beautiful, warm, chocolate brown eyes." I smiled warmly.
"Sorry to interrupt this precious moment, but who are the godparents?" Natasha asked so softly it was barely audible. God, Natasha domestic? That's a scary thought.
"We haven't really thought about it." I admitted with a small shrug.
"Natasha, you can be the godmother. Thor can be the godfather of Michael. And Bruce can be Colleen's." Loki decided before looking at me. "Is that okay?" I nodded.
"Yeah. I don't have a problem with it." I told her. Natasha, Thor, and Bruce smiled proudly. The team started to crowd around us to see the cuteness that were our children. Loki laughed softly. "I have a feeling that our twins are going to be the center of attention." I whispered into her hair. Loki giggled.
"Can I hold her?" Natasha asked. Loki handed Colleen to her with a nod, snuggling closer to my side.
"Yeah. Just be-" She cut herself off with a team. "-careful of her head." I wrapped my arm around her waist as I handed Michael off to Bruce who had asked me seconds before Natasha.
"Why don't you two get some sleep? We'll watch the newborns." Steve offered. I looked to my wife who already looked like she was half asleep. "It's pretty late anyway and you're probably exhausted, Loki." She nodded.
"That sounds nice. Thank you." Loki responded as her eyes closed slowly. As the team walked out of the room, I slowly drifted off into sleep myself.
~~~
I heard the soft sound of baby cries as I woke up. As my eyes slowly opened, I saw Loki sit up before we were both given a child.
I looked into my son's eyes as I tried to calm him down. Colleen quickly calmed down in Loki's arms. I looked from my son to my daughter then back to my son.
"How'd you do that?" I asked Loki. She shrugged.
"I have no clue." She responded softly. "She just soft once she saw me."
I looked my sweet baby girl in the eyes and playfully glared at her. "Mommy's girl." I accused. She just gave me a gummy grin. I chuckled.
"Oh calm down, Anthony." Loki remarked. I turned back to my son who had just calmed down. "He seems to be a Daddy's boy."
"Whatever." I joked. Michael looked up at me with his own gummy smile. The nurse came in soon after.
"Good news, the twins and your wife seem to be fine to go home." She announced. I looked into her eyes before I looked at my twins with the goofiest smile ever.
"That's great. Give us an hour and we'll be out of your hair." She walked away and I started packing the things I had Bruce bring while Loki held both of our kids. There wasn't much but I had to make sure everything was there. We couldn't forget anything at the hospital.
It took less than an hour to get everything ready so we checked out of the hospital earlier than I said we would. I was carrying the bag with Loki's clothes she wore yesterday and the baby stuff while Loki carried the kids. We walked out of the hospital only to get into the car a moment later. Loki sat between the two baby-seats in the back just to make sure they were safe. She was so adorable; she kept fawning over the twins. Not that I didn't want to spend all day staring at our children but she just couldn't help herself. The team had left while I was packing so it was just the four of us. They said they had a surprise waiting at home; whatever that means.
As I walked into the house with my baby girl in my arms, I heard a soft surprise as everyone jumped out from behind furniture and other places. Loki and I laughed softly.
"They're not asleep if that's why you guys were so quiet." Loki pointed out. "They're already taking after Anthony with his stubbornness." I glared at my wife before rolling my eyes. She lightly elbowed me. "You know I'm only teasing." I nodded. "I love you." I kissed her nose.
"I love you too." Everyone awed. I chuckled as I wrapped an arm around Loki's waist. She placed her head on my chest, holding Michael closer to her chest. I turned to everyone with a smile.
Someone I thought I would never see again stepped out of their hiding spot. At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me but when I did a double take, she was still standing there. I looked to Loki who was bouncing Michael slightly in her arms, the widest smile on her face. She was oblivious to what was going on, so wrapped up with our son. But when I looked back, she was still there.
My breathing hitched and my throat felt like it was closing. I couldn't breath or speak and my arms felt weak. I almost dropped Colleen because my arms felt so heavy. She's only been back in my life for a few minutes and was already ruining it.
"P-Pepper?"
