Chapter 29- Tony

Since I was flying myself to Sokovia, I had plenty of time to get lost in my thoughts.  For starters, we were flying to Sokovia to rescue superpowered twins just to get them on our side. Honestly, I didn't have to go on this stupid mission. Fury only wanted me to go because of the twins. Twins. . . God, I just want to be with my twins! My beautiful, beautiful son and daughter. Maybe I should just video call them. That'll help clear my head.

After waiting a while for the call to get answered, the picture finally appeared. Loki smiled at me from the other side, Colleen and Michael nowhere in sight. I looked around slightly before frowning. Loki rolled his eyes.

"I love you too." He remarked. I blinked a few times before smiling at my husband. His expression softened. "Michael and Colleen just went down for their nap." Loki stated. I nodded in acknowledgment. "That was after we fought about which movie we were going to watch first." Loki rolled his eyes. I smiled softly. "I swear, they get along one minute and then fight the next." He shook his head slightly. "What are we going to do with them?" I shrugged.

"I'm sure they'll sort it out when they get older." I told him. He sighed, resting his head on the back of the couch. I smiled. "What are you planning on doing with the house to yourself?" Loki looked up with a small smile.

"With the whole house to myself, I was planning on reading. But the twins are still here so I don't really have the house all to myself." I rolled my eyes. "I just got this new book, I've been dying to read it."

"You are such a nerd." I commented. He rolled his eyes. "Who knew Loki Stark could be such a nerd?" He smiled warmly

"I know we've been married for three years now, but I never get tired of hearing you say my name." He remarked softly. I smirked.

He laughed a little before saying anything. "I promised them that you would make it back." My smile faded slightly. "Can you, I don't know, manage to do that so I don't break my promise?" I sighed.

"How serious was this promise?" I asked him. He bit his lip slightly.

"Pinkie promise serious." I sighed, closing my eyes. "You should've seen them, Anthony. They were so close to crying, Michael especially. He practically adores you. I couldn't-" He hesitated. "Please? I realize it's just a rescue mission but sometimes rescue missions go south." I open my eyes again, pressing my lips into a thin line.

"I'll try my hardest." I assured him. "But I don't see why I won't be able to." Loki smiled softly, mouthing the words 'I love you'. I smiled. "I love you too." Loki looked down to his lap.

"Where are heading to?" He asked.

"Sokovia." I answered with a small eye roll. "I honestly don't know why I'm going on this one. I swear, after this one I'm retiring." Loki rolled his eyes.

"That's what you said before the twins were born." He remarked. I nodded slightly. "All this just to add two more members to the team?"

"I guess." I rolled my eyes before continuing. "Would've much rather waited until our twins were ready." Loki crossed his arms over his chest.

"We'll see, Anthony. Let's see what they can do first." He remarked. I nodded before my eyes widened.

"Loki, what if they can do magic?" Loki started to roll his eyes before he got himself, his eyes widening instead. "What do we do if they have magic?!"

"Relax, Anthony. I'm sure we would figure that out." Loki assured. He bit his lip. "Of course we would." He straightened his posture. "I will teach them when they are old enough." I nodded. Loki nodded.

"I believe in you ba-" I cut myself off when Natasha interrupted the call. "Just talking to Loki." I told her when she asked what I was doing. She then asked what was wrong. I rolled my eyes. "Nothing's wrong." I assured her. Age asked about the twins. "They're taking a nap." She hung up after that. I rolled my eyes and looked back to Loki who was raising an eyebrow. "Natasha called and asked how I was doing." Loki nodded.

"Got it." He mumbled. "Well, I've got a book calling my name and you have a mission to take care of so I think I'm going to wrap up the call." I nodded.

"We're almost here anyway." I told him. He nodded, a soft smile eating away. "I love you, Loki."

"Love you too." He stated before we both hung up. A couple minutes later, I landed with everyone else and flipped the mask up so they could see my face.

"Now, where are these twins we're here to save?" I asked, clasping my hands together.

"We don't know." Natasha remarked. "I say we split up and check around." Everyone nodded in agreement before we split apart.

We searched for hours upon hours before we finally found them late at night. They were sitting outside eating dinner at one of the local cafes.

"Found them." I remarked over the coms. We were all over the place but I was currently by myself.

"Don't do anything stupid." Natasha warned. I rolled my eyes.

"Thanks." I muttered.

"And get out of your suit." Bruce added. I nodded.

"Alright." After stepping out of my suit, I walked over to where they were and sat a table away. They kept glancing my way, fidgeting. The boy stood up and moved to the other side of the table. The girl started doing this weird thing and red stuff came out of her hands.

"Do you have them?" Steve asked.

"No, not yet." I whispered, just quiet enough for the team to hear me but not laugh enough for the twins to hear me.

"What doth take so long?" Thor asked. I rolled my eyes before remembering that I probably shouldn't have. He was my brother-in-law after all.

"I'm not gonna rush things. Calm down." I stood up and slowly made my way over to them before sitting across from them at their own table. "You two." I stated.

"What do you want Mister Stark?" The lady questioned, barely meeting my eyes and her accent thick.

"I thought my first statement made it pretty clear." I remarked, leaning forward on my forearms. "Fury wants you two to be on the team." The boy raised an eyebrow.

"What if we said no?" He asked. I shook my head.

"I'm afraid I can't let that happen."
