Finals

'Its time' ash thought to himself. All of the formalities when fighting the noblemen were gone. These were two professionals in their craft. Two professionals ash just happened to know. Gary Oak, and Alain... Umm... Come to think of it ash never learned Alain's last name. Either way, these were the two toughest battlers in the entire world. And he would be facing off with them tonight.
"Begin!" The loud voice drowned out all other sounds as the trainers sent out their Pokémon. Gary sent out his umbreon, Alain his charazard. "Charazard, MEGA EVOLVE!" Alain yelled, as a ball of light engulfed his fire flying partner. This was their chance.
"Sylveon, flash!" Serena commanded, as sylveon shot out a blast of light blinding its opponents. "Focus blast!" Ash yelled out. Pikachu sent out the blast of fighting energy towards the unmoving, blinded umbreon. The cloud of smoke was just beginning to clear, but the outcome was certain. An extremely strong super effective attack should mean only one outcome, umbreon was knocked out.
Gary just stood there unmoving. He had lost. "Umbreon, return" he recalled his Pokémon.
"We won't ever go down that easily" Alain said, smiling. Ash couldn't help return the smile. "Flare blitz!" He commanded and charazard sped towards sylveon in a rage. This attack was going to do a lot of damage, ash thought as he braced himself. The worst part was that not even he and pikachu were fast enough to doge/counter that. But then, as if it was nothing, sylveon hopped upwards. A loud slamming sound could be heard, as charazard impacted the wall behind sylveon. "Charazard is out of bounds!" The announcer said raising his flag "ash and Serena are the winners!"
The crowd erupted in cheering. Of course everyone wanted to see the queen win, and they got what they wanted. "Wow... good job" Alain said, with a surprised look on his face. "Yea.. thanks" ash replied smiling. "Its time to go miss yuvone" a man said, quickly begenning to usher her away. "b... bye" serena said as she was pulled away quickly. "What was that about?" Gary said, shaking his head. "Oh, and also, alain told me about how you were friends with him and serena... WHY DIDNT YOU SAY YOU WERE FRIENDS WITH A FAMOUS PERSON!"

"well.." ash said looking at the ground "I guess I didnt want to be known as the person who was friends with the Kalos Queen" ash said, realizing that he really didnt mean it. He had no idea why he withheld that information from his friends. "Yea, i guess it would suck to be known like that."

The three of them continued to hang out at the party, and left about an hour after the battle had finished. It was a nice day in all aspects, although ash still felt a little strange. Like something was missing. Like something that was destined to happen, didn't.
