Chapter Song: Porcelain Heart by BarlowGirl
Edward stood stock still for a moment, taking in the fact that she'd just spoken her first word in seven years and that it was his name, before relaxing and rubbing her back, "You're okay. Everything's alright. I'm here. I'm so sorry, baby." He soothed her while every fiber of his being want to find Mike and tear him to shreds, but Bella was his main concern. He pulled her shaking body closer to his as he murmured loving non-sense to her.
She listened to him coo words of love and promise of protection for a moment as Alice, Jasper walked up to them with Emmett and Rose wearing crowns behind them.
Confusion then registration took hold of all their features. Alice stormed away. "I'm going to kill that bitch."
Rose followed behind her. "Not without me."
"No!" Bella called hoarsely, freezing everyone.
The girls spun around. "Did you just say something?" Alice asked with an open mouth that mirrored Rose's and the guy's.
Bella nodded as she pulled only a little bit away from Edward. He still looked worried but there was happiness underneath too. "P-please don't do anything." That little sentence took more effort than she'd like to admit.
Everyone was looking at her like she just parted the red sea or something. "They can't get away with this Bella," Rose said vehemently, her voice was rough and angry.
Bella nodded."I know, b-but we can't solve violence with violence."
Everyone frowned, including Edward.
"So you're suggesting we take a cue from Gondi?" Emmett asked sarcastically, electing a slap to the back of his head from Rose.
Bella answering, "Yes." Had them all staring incredulously at her. "This has g-gotten way out of control."
They all nodded, still not catching on.
She looked at Edward for a moment before pushing out, "W-e have to tell our parents."
Edward's face changed from hard to soft instantly as he hugged her. "Okay."
Charlie was absolutely livid when Bella sat him down and told him what happened. Then he switched to surprised when he realized she was speaking.
"When—how did you start talking?"
Bella shrugged about the last part. "W-when Edward saved me. I don't know w-why I started. It just happened."
Her uncle held her fast. "I'm going to school Monday."
"With us," Esme saying behind them had their attention snapping to the added company.
Carlisle nodded, holding his wife's shoulders. A pillar of strength. Bella was glad someone was strong at the moment because she couldn't mange it at the moment. She wasn't nearly as big of a wreck as she was an hour ago but her body still had a slight quack to it.
Charlie noticed and rubbed her arms as Edward stood only inches away from her side with the same mixed expression as before.
"I have half the mind to put a restraining order on them," Charlie growled.
Carlisle said, "I think that should be a last resort thing."
"What do you suggest then?" Charlie asked hostilely.
