The next day.

Clarke, a blonde girl with eyes so blue that everyone could see the ocean flow inside them, was walking hands in hands with her boyfriend towards the school building to meet their friends. Whilst Finn, a tall long haired boy kissed her goodbye, she said hello to her best friend Raven who immediately pulled her into a hug.
"I'm already dying." Raven whined as she pressed her friend against her body. Clarke chuckled.
"Lessons haven't even started."
"Exactly! Can we go home now??" Raven begged as she was weirdly looking around.
"What's wrong Reyes? You act like a complete weirdo."
"I've seen Blake already. I don't want to ever see her again alright? Let's go now!" Raven's dark brown eyes remembered one of the dangerous but yet incredibly beautiful eyes of a lion. They both had this dark angry blaze of colors inside their eyes whenever they were angry.
"Raven it's been 7 months now. Don't you think it's time to forgive and forget?" Clarke asked while she slowly dragged Raven inside the building who didn't even seem to notice.
"No?! I've spent 2 whole months with drinking the life out of me. And yet I'm still alive. Did it help me forget? No." She emphasized the 'o' causing Clarke to roll her eyes.
She was tired of Raven's and Octavia's drama that started as an innocent flirting and developed into a very passionate affair which was ill-fated from the start. Clarke was pretty sure that Raven and also Octavia already knew in the early beginning that their relationship could never work out, since Octavia had her boyfriend Adam and didn't want to give him up for her long-time best friend.
She knew that Raven would be hurt and heartbroken that's why she and her friends all separated themselves from Octavia even though that wasn't fair at all because it was just a conflict between these two.

"Raven. Get over it okay? You haven't lost her because you never got her. I know you were hurt and you still are but she's our best friend. You should finally forgive her and start being her best friend again. You'll never be her lover and I'm so sorry for that. But when it all started, I told you it wouldn't work out in the end because she loves him. She's truly in love with him Raven and you were.."
Clarke took a deep breath, knowing that she was about to hurt her best friend. But she had to do what needed to be done. "I'm so sorry to say that hun.. but you were only a distraction for her when they had this huge crisis."
She could see Raven's heart breaking and aching and she had a struggle to swallow the lump that choke in her throat and to hold back tears from falling.
"Raven.. I'm so s.."
"Leave it.. I got it. I.. see you at lunch." Raven said without facing her friend before she ran off.

"What was that about?" Someone asked.
Clarke turned around to face Jasper, a tall nerdy guy.
"Ugh.. don't ask. It's the usual thing." She answered and opened her locker to put some books and sportswear inside.
"Blake.. oh yeah. I've seen her today. She walked along with a new student by her side. There were rumors.."
"About her adopting someone." She finished him off.
"My mom told me about it. They adopted someone in our age."
"Oh really? It's time to catch up with O then. That girl was hotter than my mum's cooking."
He winked before he went to his class, leaving Clarke shaking her head as she walked towards her class. Suddenly the bell rang and she still had a few stairs to climb.
'Shit.'She thought. 'I'm gonna be late on the first day. Great. Maybe I should stop letting other people's problems become my problems'.

Clarke's POV

'Here goes nothing.' I said to myself when I slowly pressed the door handle to see Mr. Pike angrily looking at me.
I slowly took some steps forward. "I'm sorry for being late.." I almost whispered in embarrassment.

Mr. Pike and me actually had a past together. Last year I came late for maths nearly everyday, also because of a lot of things..

There my New Years resolution to become a punctual person ended in nothing but smoke.
"Well to be fair, I'm not surprised you're late again Griffin. But being late on the first day.. that's even a record for you."
"I'm sorry." I simply answered and was about to walk to the back where I usually sat but Pike cleared his throat.
"You're sitting in the front this year Clarke, maybe then you'll learn how to be punctual."
I rolled my eyes at him and walked towards an empty seat next to the new girl Jasper and me talked about earlier. Whilst I sat down I looked at her and gave her a friendly smile.
"Hey I'm Clarke." I whispered. She, on the other hand, just stared at me before she looked back at her notes. Friendliness was apparently a word she didn't have in her vocabulary.

A few hours passed by and I almost forgot all the incidents and conversations I had today. Just when Raven crossed my path I remembered the day hadn't been good at all. I sighed and grabbed her arm. "Do you want to ignore me forever?" I asked.
She just looked at me. "Even in death."
"Raven.." I began but she cut me off. "It's alright Clarke, you were just telling the truth. I would understand if you talked to her again."
"Friends?" I pouted.
"Friends."
I nodded and pulled her into a hug. "It's just complicated."
"Ohhh you're telling me." She laughed.

"You're having PE as well right?" I hoped we would be in the same course but today didn't seem to be my lucky day.
"Nah, heading to music now."
"Ugh. You're not even musical.." I groaned and hugged her goodbye before I made my way to the gym.
In the locker rooms I met that new girl again who was taking of her shirt. Damn she really had a nice body and I had to admit I was jealous of her abs.
In the next moment, she caught me looking at her getting changed. I swallowed and chose a place far far far away from her and simply hoped she hadn't notice that I stood there a few seconds  too long.

When she left I waited a few more seconds before I followed to avoid her as good as possible.
Everyone was already sitting quietly on the floor and listened to our teacher Mrs. Johnson who explained the game dodgeball.
Mrs Johnson was a huge sporty woman with short blonde hair who didn't seem to be girly at all. She was actually quite the contrary.
"Clarke and Lexa, since you both seem off, Each of you is gonna have to choose a team." She spoke in her Canadian accent.
Who's Lexa? I thought and looked at every person, trying to figure out who looked like a Lexa. Suddenly I met green eyes staring at me again and finally enlightenment came to me. She was Lexa.
