Clarke's POV

I went to school the next morning filled with joy. Finally, Lexa and I were going places and I was sure things would improve very soon.
I got butterflies tickling the inner parts of my stomach whenever a thought of her crossed my mind.
She was finally opening up to me about herself and I couldn't wait finding out more, getting to know the real her.

Raven was already in class sitting in her usual spot when I came in late. I took way too long to get here, probably because I was thinking to much about my woman.
Lucky me, our teacher hadn't arrived before I did.

"A little late, don't you think?" Raven furrowed her brows.
I shrugged my shoulders and sat down.
"Better late than never, right?"
"I guess so." She said. "Have you seen O?" She gestured to the back of the class where Octavia would usually sit and fix her makeup before class starts.

"Nope." I replied. I didn't even know whether I had seen her or not. Honestly, I was too busy thinking about .. important stuff. Like planning my marriage and picking out flowers that Lexa would plant in our garden. Or would I do the gardening? Haven't decided yet.

"Good Morning class." Our teacher Mr. Morgan said when he entered class a little out of breath.
"He probably jogged up all the stairs if you look at his armpits." Raven whispered.
I made a face. "Eww."
In fact, his polo shirt was drained in sweat.

He went through his long sticky hair as he looked around from one empty seat to another.
"Ms. Reyes." He frowned. "Care to tell me about Ms. Blake's and Ms. Wood's whereabouts?"
"Do I look like google maps?" She snickered.
"Wait." She looked around. "I think I get a signal. Oh wait, no..I think they've turned off their gps. Can't locate them I'm sorry."

The rest of the class giggled in response.
I elbowed her but she gave me a look that said 'what?' in return.

"What a funny nature you are." Mr. Morgan hissed. "I hope you enjoy detention just as much."

"What the fuck?" She slammed her fist against the desk.
"2 extra hours." He smiled.
Raven's head turned slightly red.
"Don't." I whispered.
"You little piece of shit. I have a game tonight."
Too late.

"Well then, enjoy your detention game with Ms. Griffin."
"What?" I threw my hands in the air. "I didn't even do anything!!"
"You're a Team. And as a Team you're responsible for each other. If you can't put your friend in her place you both lose."
"I'd very much like to discuss that-

The door opened and Lexa and Octavia walked in hastily. Both looked very upset.

"Now that your A team is complete you can fill your players in about your little detention game."
Lexa stopped in her tracks and turned around.
"Detention?" She rose her eyebrows. "You're kidding!"

"Lexa let's just sit down." I heard Octavia beg her as she pulled on Lexa's hood.
"Well ladies. Class starts at 8 and you're 10 minutes late."
"better coming ten minutes late than never, right Mr Morgan?." She hissed under her breath.

Once again, the class started laughing but lucky for her Mr. Morgan didn't get the hint and started his boring lesson.

School went by fast. Detention, however, did not.
Octavia and I sat in the back while Raven and Lexa sat in the front.
Other than us, a few younger boys and the typical troublemakers joined detention. Much to our annoyance, Ontari and her gang was amongst them.

"What a lovely surprise." I looked at Octavia but she didn't reply. Instead, she was looking down, playing with her nails. Weird.

Much to my surprise, ontari took the seat directly next to Lexa's and she was whispering something into her ear.

God, I wished I could have just jumped up from my seat and walked to them or could have somehow spied on what they were talking about.
Lexa, however, didn't seem to enjoy her presence that much and I hated that I was stuck in this stupid seat.

When detention ended it was already dark outside. I took my stuff and followed the others towards the school gate. Lexa suddenly  grabbed my hand and dragged me with her as if she was on the run from something.

"Slow Down." I giggled. "I know you desperately want some private session with me but you don't have to hurry as if you'll never get the chance again."
She looked at me with a stern expression.

"I need to talk to you." She mumbled.
"Then talk to me." I stepped before her and stopped her in her tracks, placing both hands around her neck.
We could hear someone talk in the distance. That made Lexa freak out a little.
"No." She freed herself from my grip. "Not here."
"Why?" I grabbed her waist but she took my hand instead and dragged me with her.

"If that ain't Lexa and her little sunshine."

"Ontari."
I hissed.
"Missed me much?" No one replied. "Well didn't miss you either."
"What do you want?" I asked while Lexa looked at her in a very stern way. Almost, as if she was threatening her telepathically.

"Hate to interrupt you guys." She bit her lip. "Big fan of you two, really." She gestured wildly at both of us. "But your uh pet, fiancée, whatsoever is not as perfect as you may think."
"Shut up." Lexa pushed her hard.
"Lex!" I pulled her back.
That's when Octavia and Raven joined in.

"What's going on?" Raven looked confused but Octavia's face was just as white as Lexa's. In fact, the only alive feature in Lexa's face was the pounding vein on her forehead. God I'm a sucker for that.

"Or what?" Ontari looked Lexa deadly in the eye. "Scared I'm gonna blurt your secret?"
Lexa stepped forward to push her again but I held her back just in time. "What secret?" I asked.
"Nothing!" Lexa replied quickly. "Don't listen to her."
She shove me back and I could see little sweat drops running down her temples.
I was so confused. What the heck was going on here?

"O? How about you take Clarke home, now."
"Yes. Good idea." Octavia rushed to my side and pulled on my sleeve to go.
"No."
I freed myself.
"What's going on here?!"
"Nothing." Lexa said.
"Come on Clarke!" O pressed.
"You don't want to stay to hear the truth?" Ontari was visibly amused.
"Now!" Lexa commanded.

That's when I snapped.
I pushed Octavia as well as Lexa away from me.
"What's going on?!" I shouted in a panicked voice. "What secret is she talking about?"
"Nothing." Lexa's eyes practically begged me to just leave.
"Nothing?" I repeated. "If this is nothing then why do you want me to leave so bad? What are you hiding? Is there something I don't know about?"

Lexa looked down to her feet.
"Look.." she started but Ontari cut her off before she could even find the right words.

I thought my world, my almost idyllic wold as I had seen it, was falling apart.
