“A woman can be demure, ladylike and the most prim and proper character, and still have a toughness and resiliency as apparent as a superhero style female character or a warrior or soldier type. It’s all about the story, the character, and the course of events.”

Shree’s Perspective

“Go fast and come fast.” Vidhi bhabhi grinned, hugging me. I pressed a tight smile and nodded my head.

“Shree, you’ve kept the gifts right?” Mom asked and I checked my bag to reassure her.

“Mom, we’re getting late.” Abhimanyu said, glancing at his watch. I made a face, how annoying he is!

I took elders’ blessings. As always Anshu Dada forbade me to touch his feet. I always wanted a brother like him. But, definitely not husband like Abhimanyu!!

“Will you move now?” He asked, pressing a tight smile just for his family, huh!! I walked past him and sat on the passenger seat, I was going my home today and away from this moron who was sitting next to me. He’s a total jerk, after our argument a day back, I didn’t see him much.

“You don’t need to come to my home.” I stated, looking outside. In next moment, I realized he’d parked the car in nearby parking allot and defused the engine. Confused, I turned to look at him and he looked straight at the road, blankly.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, drawing my eyebrows together.

“You asked me not to come to your home. So...” He trailed off, dryly. At that moment, imagine me with an axe in my hand and Abhimanyu lying on the altar, and I’m all set to draw it on him.

“I meant about the evening.” I rolled my eyes. “Don’t come to pick me up, for I am staying for three days there.”

“Okay...” He chipped and infused the engine, driving me to my home while I kept twitching my face, looking outside and suddenly, it struck to me.

“And why did you stop the car there?” I questioned and well I had an idea but if my notion were true, I was going to curse him till the end of this world.

“I thought you are feeling suffocated with me in one car. So I thought you would love to go by public transport.” He rattled, casually and I started cursing him, inwardly.

May you choke in your food, may you suffer from dyspepsia, may you fell down from staircase, may you eat oily food that leads to high cholesterol.

“You don’t have any shame.” I stated, looking away and he scoffed. “I thought you have already certified me as twerp. So now no matter what I do, what I say, you will not believe me.”

“Being smart eh?” I scowled at him. “Let me tell you, this is not going to be the way you want. If you think you will get rid of me by spitting hogwash, you are wrong.”

He gave me an ‘explain-please’ look and I continued, “I am not going to end this marriage. Neither I am going to forgive you nor I will let you live peacefully. You have to give me everything. Every right. All of yours.”

Yeah, I was not going to give up easily, there’s no chance I would accept what he thwack, he had to be responsible towards me and he had to accept this relation.

“All of me?” He said, probably after gathering himself by the shock I’d just given him but the moment he opened his mouth, I died out of mortification.
Really a jerk!

“I didn’t mean that.” I muttered, looking away and turned to him. “And then you say you’re not a twerp.”

He laughed and unwillingly I metaphor it as the chiming of wind bells, soothing and loving. The next second I reprimanded myself but that didn’t change the fact that he had some affect on me.
