"Whatever he had found, it made him a better person. Maybe that's what love is, finding the person who brings out the best in you and eliminates the worst."
Shree's Perspective
"Well I can see you two are getting along well. I think I can accept something from you really soon. You two are sleeping, right?" Rhea snickered eyeing the new hickeys Abhimanyu had bestowed upon me. It was a routine for me to apply concealer and no matter how much I denied him the access near my neck knowing his hickey fetish, he would just con me get his way.
I grumbled pulling my kurti straps more close, "Have you ever heard of the term 'privacy'? You should provide me with it sometimes."
"Don't fret and fume, babe! I was just stating facts here. I want to be your kid's godmother, you know, the typical white Macintosh and magic wand in my hand with a sparking tiara on head." She dramatically used a falsetto voice.
"Babe!" I interjected, feigning smile "You just mistook the fairy for godmother."
Her face dropped, "Oh, really? Aren't they same? I mean the costumes and appearance." She murmured to herself and I ignored her.
"CH...Leave it; it's not the point now." She excitedly gripped my hand and wiggled her eyebrows, "You guys are fetching sixth month of your marriage right?"
"Yup, next week!" I smiled chewing my nails, "I am contemplating to plan a surprise for him."
"That's good!" She grinned and we resumed to our works. That's true, my sixth month anniversary was hopping near and I wanted to plan something extraordinarily for him just like he did.
Abhimanyu wasn't a puzzle for me anymore. I had solved him in and out. He wasn't the jerk anymore, concussively he had turned into a person, and he wasn't. His romance had elevated to new level, which sometimes brought us to embarrassment, just like a few days back but the aftermath was always cherish.
I was in the kitchen, helping Vidhi Bhabhi when he suddenly decided to turn up, excusing that he had this urge of coffee. I could've missed in recognizing the look in his eyes but I didn't fail to notice the smile he sent my way. We'd just started being cozy and he was making me weak in knees because there was practically no second where he didn't get me alone and kissed me to his heart's content. The memory itself made my cheeks colored. He hadn't just left me sane and naïve as I was. I realized that I was more aggressive and demanding than he was, in contrast he was pretty passionate and rapacious.
"Okay...you go. I'll bring your coffee in study?" I confirmed but he bobbed his head in negative, tottering beside me, almost brushing his body against mine. "No... Actually, I'll make coffee myself. You can do your work."
"Sure!" I stepped aside giving him room to make himself comfortable and started kneading the dough. Vidhi bhabhi was indulged in other work just opposite to me on the counter. I hadn't any clue what was going in his mind until a hand crept on my waist; not only crept but tweaked it too. As swift as unexpected, I squealed. Though I knew whom that hand belonged to, but the sudden gesture caught me off guard. My first reaction was to glance at bhabhi who looked at me in return.
"What happened? You okay?" Vidhi bhabhi asked me concerned and Abhimanyu pretended to be engrossed in his work. A smile was playing on his lips.
"Yeah. I am fine; actually a cockroach just stumbled on my feet." I lied, glaring Abhimanyu surreptitiously.
"What? Cockroach? Is there any?" She wondered, actually just a week before we had done pest control, so having a cockroach out of nowhere was a bit incredulous.
"Yeah. There was!" I mumbled and she nodded, "Okay in that case..." She opened the cabinet that had 'Hit' but it was empty.
"I will go get one." She strode out and I cleansed my hands, turning to him, "What exactly was that? What if she caught us?"
Abhimanyu was as cool as cucumber. He wrapped his hands around my waist and kissed me deep. "But she didn't."
"Abhi...um...someone will-" I insinuated pushing him away and looked at the entrance but he kept his finger on my lip, "Relax! You're my wife. No one will say anything even if they catch us." He grinned, dropping his face in my neck.
"It's not funny." I hugged him tightly and he took t minus ten seconds to hoist me up in his arms.
"Let's go to our room."
"No...Your coffee?"
"It can wait." He stated, padding to the exit.
"What if anyone sees?" I was dying estimating the mortification he'd brought me upon because ten stairs ahead our room, anyone could've seen us.
"Mom and badi ma are out. Bade papa is in library with dad and it would take ten minutes to find 'Pesticide' to bhabhi and Dada is in office." He explained to me one by one, inching closer the room.
"Okie-dokie." I giggled, looping my hands around his neck and the moment we were almost before our room, Dada came out of nowhere. I eyed Abhimanyu in disbelief, was he lying?? The surprised look on his face confirmed that he wasn't but now what!!
Abhimanyu exchanged glances with me and the least I could say through my eyes, was don't you dare to drop me. Dada was also errant at his part, instead of leaving us alone. He approached us with a teasing look on his face.
"What happened? Why are you carrying her?" He queried, faking concern and I gulped looking away in abashment.
"Um...actually, she is not well." Abhimanyu lied, "So I thought to let her rest in the room."
"Oh! Good. What's wrong with you Shree?" Dada bombarded another question at us and utterly stupidity of us that we both blurted at the same time.
"Headache!" "Leg sprain."
Two wrong answers.
Dada was sure that we were lying because his eyebrows elevated and his face lit up. He wasn't going to leave easily.
"Actually I have headache and I also sprained my leg." I clarified before he could throw us in a position of embarrassment.
"Okay. You should rest." He walked past us and we heaved a sigh of relief but then he called us back, "Which leg by the way?"
"Left" "Right"
Again we did it. I glared Abhimanyu and blurted again, "Right" "Left" he accompanied me. I was literally about to cry if it was going to stay for next few moments. It was highly embarrassing.
"You guys really need coordination." Dada burst into laughter and sprinter downstairs, leaving us dumbfounded.
"He wasn't at home right!" I glowered at Abhimanyu and he opened and shut his mouth many times like a fish.
"Leave me!" Struggling against his grip, I landed on my feet and pulling him by his tie, I pranced to our room.
Once inside, I latched the door and turned to him glaring, "Explain!"
"How would I know? I was with you in the kitchen, remember?" He shrugged and scooped me again, sucking my chin.
"I'm warning you this better be the last time. I don't want to face this again, it's so embarrassing." I blabbered until he dropped me on the bed and kissed me to shut up.
"It won't happen again." He pecked my forehead before toppling beside me and threw an arm around me, his lips worked upon my neck. "What do you think about it?"
"About what?" I wondered, playing with his hair.
"About shifting. I think we should move out to our home."
His words sent me chills, I was afraid yes. I'd never been away from my family and by the time, I am here I'd never thought about leaving such lovely people. Wasn't that a prominent factor of denying to NY preposition?
"No, why?" I questioned back.
"I think we lack privacy here. I can't have romance with you whenever and wherever I want. Plus I think we should move out because maybe in few months, I have to go Udaipur." He said seriously.
I placed my head on his chest and kissed his heart, "I'm happy here. I don't want to move out and this is our home. Plus you're saying as if you've never been out before. Remember Hyderabad or Bangalore project. You'd been out for two months."
"So much love for in laws, eh? You sure you don't want to shift." He jibed, pulling me closer and I pecked his nose, "Sure as hell. I don't want to shift."
ESV cleared her throat to put her input, 'I don't want to shift because I've no sense of grocery shopping. I've no idea how to do spring cleaning. I'm too lazy.'
Yeah yeah whatever!!
Since that day, his banter of 'let's shift' was continued on and off. Sometimes, I wouldn't heed but sometimes, he would just piss me off with it. Two days before, he came home with some brochure of condos and apartment societies. I couldn't tell him that I was sicker of leaving my family here than moving to another city. It would simply means leaving my parents behind here. I could meet them as and when I wish because we stayed in same city but it wouldn't be that easy if I shifted in another city that was around 10 miles away.
Let's just see, how I will be able to expostulate him.
I packed my stuff and descended downstairs to wait for him, he had taken this unnecessary responsibility of driving me to and from home."Sorry if I'm late." Moments later, he came striding to me after parking his car and asked, pecking my cheek.
PDA! Ah! They are another factor of his awesome personality now.
"No, I just got free." I clutched his hand and inched closer, "Um...I want to have ice cream. What say?"
"Fine. Come!" He opened the door for me and circling around, sat on his seat and ignited the engine on.
"Abhi..." I stretched and he hummed, "I was thinking, what should we do on our anniversary? I mean six months. Do you have something in mind?"
I asked beforehand, so that if he was making any plan, they wouldn't be spoiled otherwise I would make one for us.
"No...I'm kind of busy but I'll treat you." He kissed my hair, adeptly handing the wheel with one hand.
"Don't worry about me." I smiled, knowing how these days are packed up for him. He left early and came late. He was very busy, but I would make our anniversary special for him. I made sure to plan something that could make his day and he wouldn't get tired of chanting that he loved me because I loved it as much as I loved him.
