Riley left Isaac to have a shower, since he clearly needed one to get his mind off of things. That was very traumatic (for him and her) to experience, so she had to confine in someone about what was going on. Boyd and Isaac were both acting strange, what are the odds that Scott or Ethan would be too?
Riley spotted Allison and Lydia standing around the door of her room and quickly rushed over, hearing a very distinguishable noise that sounded exactly like an electric saw of some kind.
"What's happening?" She asked, as they all looked at her in shock and then relief.
"Wait, if you're here, then who's in there?" Lydia asked, and Stiles quickly moved to bust the door down. They could have just asked for Riley's key, but then she realized that she didn't have it on her. She also didn't lock her door. The door swung open and the overhead light was on, illuminating the boy that had a handsaw in the hands and was ready to cut himself in half with it. It was Ethan.
"Hey, Ethan don't!" Stiles yelled and bolted across to him. He and Ethan struggled with the handsaw as Lydia tried to find the off switch for the saw. Riley watched in shock; maybe the same thing was happening to Ethan like it did to Isaac, only a lot more graphic. She thought quickly; maybe what she did to Isaac will also work on Ethan. Maybe bright lights snap them out of whatever trance they were in.
Lydia was successful in turning the handsaw off and Stiles ripped it away from him. Ethan looked crazy; it looked like he was going to turn on Stiles, but then his claws whipped out and he was ready to slash his own stomach. Riley jumped in and pushed Stiles forcefully out of the way.
Riley needed Emma in a time of need, but it depended on whether Emma was willing to help. She had to, she needed to. Riley needed to save Ethan; she promised herself that there was not going to be any casualties if she could help it.
"Ethan!" She yelled, and she gripped onto his wrists and stared into his eyes as hers turned into silver. He shouted in pain as his fangs protruded from his gums and his eyes glowed a bright red; they burned and watered as he was stuck staring at the bright shield. He fell to the ground and Riley let go, feeling faint as that was the second time that had happened in the time span of 30 minutes. She forced Emma out, and Emma was not going to let her off that easy. Riley stumbled back and leaned onto the wall, her head pounding and vision fuzzy as if she just stood up.
"What just happened?" Ethan asked, alarm in his voice as he quickly stood up and looked around at the terrified teens. When no one answered him, he bolted off out of the room and Stiles called after him, but he was ignored. Everyone followed after him, but Riley stayed behind; walking would not be a very good idea for her.
10 minutes passed, and she heard a commotion happening outside. While she couldn't run, she was able to meekly support herself on the wall as she dragged her feet across towards the door and leaned on the railings as she saw Scott dumping what looked like gasoline onto himself and his surroundings. He had a red stick in his hands that Riley couldn't identify at such a distance, but she knew that it wasn't good.
"Allison!"She shouted, and the girl came running out of Scott's room and over to her, watching her in a worry. At the same time, Lydia and Stiles came out of Isaac and Boyd's room and Allison quickly joined them as they walked down the stairs. "Guys! Scott!" She yelled louder, pointing at the boy who Riley finally realized had a lit flare in hid hand as he held it slightly away from himself as if he was about to drop it. She tried removing herself from the rail, but she couldn't support herself; well, Emma wasn't letting her. She wasn't going to let Riley get in the way of danger again (also she was salty that she unpleasantly forced her out to save a werewolf).
They all stopped at the bottom of the stairs and stared in shock, until Allison slowly started to walk over to him.
"Scott?" She asked in horror, as the others followed. They walked around the gasoline puddle, careful not to touch it. "Scott?"
Isaac came out of his room and over to Riley, watching in astonishment at the scene playing in the parking lot.
"Help me down there." Riley ordered, and Isaac just stood there. He wasn't about to lead her down to her death. Riley always came first in Isaac's mind. "Isaac, help me get down there."
"Riley..."
"Stop. I need you." Riley interrupted, not wanting to hear his pathetic excuses. Isaac moved towards her, but he suddenly stopped, frowning at her. "What?"
"I can't touch you." He mumbled, as he placed his hand near her and got pushed back, as if there was an invisible brick wall around her. Emma.
"Fuck," she mumbled, and gripped onto the railings helplessly as she watched Scott almost about to kill himself.
"What's wrong with Scott?" Isaac asked, but she ignored him. It wasn't time for chit chat; one of her closest friends was about to die right in front of her, yet Emma wasn't allowing her to stop it. Her intentions were pure; when it came to safety, Riley was on the top of the list. Didn't matter if everyone else was going to die; when Emma saw danger, she didn't let Riley go near it. Especially if it involved werewolves.
"There's no hope." She heard Scott say, as she instantly looked back up at him from her hands. Allison looked to be on the verge of tears, whereas Stiles was lost for words.
"What do you mean, Scott? There's always hope." Allison replied through gritted teeth, trying not to break out in sobs. They still loved each other, that was obvious, they just couldn't go through the pain of dating each other again.
"Not for me." He replied sadly. Riley felt a little strength come back up and used it sparingly as she inched towards the stairs in an effort to get down to the ground level with her friends. "Not for Derek."
"Derek wasn't your fault. You know Derek wasn't your fault." Allison reasoned, but to no avail; it was like talking to a brick wall.
"Every time I try to fight back, it gets worse. People keep getting hurt, people keep getting killed--"
"Scott, listen to me, okay? This isn't you, alright? This is someone inside your head telling you to do this. Okay?" Stiles cut in, tears rolling down his cheeks as he stepped closer to him.
"What if-- what if it is just me? What if doing this is the best thing that I can do for everyone else?" Scott asked, and by this time, Riley was halfway down the stairs. Isaac followed after her, wanting to stop her but couldn't actually physically do so. He stayed as close as he could. "It all started the night I got bitten. Do you remember how it was before that, you and me?" Scott asked again, and Stiles nodded reluctantly. "We were-- we were nothing. We weren't popular, we weren't good at lacrosse; we weren't important. We were no one. Maybe I should just go back to being no one again, no one at all."
He raised the flare up, and Riley almost thought that it was game over as her heart almost dropped at the sight. She was at the bottom of the stairs, but she didn't know if she had the power to walk over to them with no support. She had to. She had to save Scott.
"Scott, just listen to me, okay? You're not no one, you're someone. Scott, you're my best friend. I need you. Scott, you're my brother." Stiles said emotionally, taking a step closer with every word. Any closer, he would have been in the gasoline with Scott. "Alright, so."
Stiles stepped into the puddle with Scott and walked over to him in a slow pace.
"If we're gonna do this, then you're just gonna have to take me with you."
He grabbed the flare and took it from the crying boy, then chucked it out of reach from the two. Riley faltered with relief, closing her eyes as she breathed out a shaky breath. She looked back up, and saw the flare slowly rolling back into the gasoline because of the wind.
"No!" Lydia shrieked, and ran into the two boys and pushed them out of the way. The gasoline lit up in flames and everyone fell to the ground, thankfully out of the way.
