I ran and ran for what felt like forever. I heard the voices of the forest, and the wakening of every creature awakening from their winter slumber. Hearing the trees speak and sing, and the light of the moon on your fur.
I stopped to talk to a squirrel who was having trouble pulling an acorn from his favorite nut tree. And do you know how in the movies these days squirrels are squeaky? Well they really aren't, they just sound like regular people if you really listen.
I eventually got tired, so I strolled on home. I made many many many friends that night. Most of which I do not remember, but their scent would be pretty familiar to me. When I did get home, it was around ten o'clock, and silent as a rock.
When I heard "Zena, they have them. Hazel and Jonathan are being held captive by some teenage boys." a bird replied. My entire face turned red as a voice inside of me said, "Peace, and patience," It was Spirit Holley. I took deep breaths trying to calm down, and took that peace and patience and threw it into everything I was about to do.
I picked up my bow and that glow started back inside of me. I felt speed get ahead of my feed, and I changed once again. I tracked them down and found them in an old abandoned home. I walked in calmly, with a tad of rage.
"Well finally! The little girl is here." one said. I'd found that not only did they have Hazel and Jonathan, but many others. I looked around at the poor children's eyes. Terrified. The boys had a knife pressing on each of their throats.
"So!" the leader started, "Let's make a deal!" "Well, of course, I'd like to hear what you have to say before you see apart of me that you'll never forget." I replied. And he walked up to me putting a hand on my shoulder, as I stood stiff with anger. "I want..." he said slowly, "you and I to have a match. But these are the rules: for each time I get hurt, is one dead person, and I can call upon any of my boys to help me when I want. And that's it." he said putting his hands up.
"Ok, well here is my offer, you stop your pity party, call of your boys and let them go." I offered standing at attention. They all laughed, and the children looked confused and worried. I grinned and every one of them lost their smile. I took a deep breath, cupping my hands together, then calmly making a swaying circle with my arms, and coming back into the same position and pushed all of that force inside of me as I opened my eyes. And as I came back down to earth, I saw them all freeze.
I ran to them all, untying them. "Wh-what w-was that?!" a blonde girl asked. "No questions now. Follow me, we can protect you, but we must go now, before they come after us." I replied, touching the boys foreheads to add something to their memories. They all dropped their jaws, "Pick up your jaws off the floor and follow me!" I yelled and ran. They each followed me. "Come on! Pick up the pace!"
We finally got back home, I had to figure out a way to set a protection spell around our forests. I had to meditate on it.
When Spirit Holley finally answered what needed to be answered, I was more than ready. "Ok here is what is going to happen," I started, "we must each make a circle around the wood. And say these words EXACTLY, 'And they shall fight against thee, as well as the Cougar, but they shall not prevail against thee, for I am with thee, saith the White Wolf. The White Wolf stands with me, and gives me strength, honor, and bravery.'" they all look very confused, "What is this going to do besides prove that you're obviously crazy?" one girl says. "Ok, I understand you are all confused, but I can explain, and after this, you'll want me to. I will yell it aloud so that everyone can repeat my words. But when you do, you must say it with all your heart, soul, and mind. Now. spread out." And as I spoke there were loud voices coming not far away.
When we were situated I began to yell, "Now repeat after me and no matter what happens, do not stop! 'And they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee, as well as the Cougars,'" and in that little bit, there was a huge flash of light, and wind became bursting from its source. But we didn't stop for nothing. "'for I am with thee, saith the White Wolf. The White Wolf stands with me,'" just as we began to finish, a bright clear looking green color semi-circle began to grow around us, "'and gives me strength.'" We each spoke. "One more time guys, it's working!" and we recited it a last time, and by the time they reached us, they saw one last thing... my glowing eyes.
