When I stepped into my junior math class first period I saw Sam sat at his usual desk in the back of the room. I walked over and took my seat next to him. He was flipping through the textbook in front of him, most likely finishing up weekend homework.

"Sam, I'm sorry I didn't have any idea they were going to be there for dinner. I don't get why your so upset with me," Sam finally looked up at me and opened his mouth to begin speaking.

"I know it wasn't your fault and I'm sorry for taking it out on you, I just.. It was just very uncomfortable for me in that situation"

"I completely understand you feeling uncomfortable but it doesn't give you a pass to ignore and be mad at me when I had nothing to do with them being there."

"I know I'm sorry I shouldn't have acted like that. It was pretty rude of me."

"Yeah it was, but thanks for apologizing," I leaned over my desk to give Sam a sloppy hug.

"How about we go to Starbucks after school, I'll even buy you your favorite frappachino," Sam smiles at me.

"So you think you can just make up to me by buying me Starbucks?" I questioned. Sam shrugged his shoulders while I opened my mouth, "well your completely right," I laughed as class began.

The week went by rather fast, after me and Sam made up. I went to his house after school, he came to

mine, just like normal.

But now it was Saturday, the day I have been dreading all week, dinner with the Simpsons.

I started rummaging through my closet searching for something to wear. My parents said it would be rather formal so I decided a dress would probably be best fit. I finally found a dress that I thought would be appropriate for tonight, it was a light pink skater dress with quarter length sleeves and a dark floral print scattered across it. I slipped into it and paired it with some black Mary Jane heels that matched with the black embedded in the floral print. I loosely curled my hair and applied concealer and some neutral eyeshadow. I drew a thick black line on my eyelid with my eyeliner and heavily applied my mascara. The eyeliner paired with the mascara made my blue eyes stand out. I looked in the mirror somewhat pleased with my appearance before grabbing my purse and heading downstairs to leave with my parents.

"You look beautiful sweetheart," my mom complimented me as I stepped down the front steps making my way to the car.

"Thanks you do too mum," I climbed into the car and we headed off for our night. I was nervous, I didn't know what I was going to say if I was forced to speak at the dinner table. It would no doubt be awkward for me just sitting there, but that's what I planned on doing. They are probably going to ask about school and my friends. Then they will find out that Brad and I go to the same school, and we will probably just pretend like we have never seen each other before or at least I hope.

We pulled into the parking lot of some fancy restaurant in downtown Boston. It was some Bistro place and I couldn't exactly pronounce the name correctly. Once we entered the restaurant the server had informed us that the others were already here. He led us to the back of the restaurant where our table was. I saw Derek, Anne, Brad and another girl who looked a little older sitting around the table. I was told to sit next to the girl who was sitting next to Brad since my parents wanted to sit next to Derek and Anne.

"Hi I'm Natalie, I'm Brad's sister," the girl who I now know as Natalie greeted me with her hand.

I shook her out reached hand and gave her a smile, "Hi I'm Paige, nice to meet you." Brad didn't look up from his phone, which I was silently questioning in this type of restaurant. As if on cue Derek spoke up.

"Brad stop being rude and put your phone down." Brad annoyingly shoved his phone into the pocket of his skinny jeans and folded his hands on the table.

The server arrived with our drinks and we all placed our order for dinner, me ordering the steak. I didn't really know what to do with myself so I just looked around the place and played with the hem of my dress with my fingers. I noticed Brad looking at me out of the corner of my eye, so I turned to look at him. He smiled at me, I rolled my eyes and looked away with a straight face.

Our meals finally came and mine looked delicious. I immediately started eating and it tasted even better than it looked. There wasn't much talking while we were all eating most likely because of how good the food was. After a pretty satisfying meal I excused myself to the ladies room. The bathrooms were so modern and clean. They even had mouthwash in there which I gladly used. I tilted my head back letting the mouthwash fall into my mouth. I sloshed the blue liquid between my cheeks before spitting it into the sink. I picked my purse up off the counter and pushed the door open but before it was even fully open it hit something on the other side. I peeked my head around to see what had gotten in the way of the door and found someone I didn't expect.

Brad was standing in front of the bathroom door with his arms folded over his chest. He was wearing a lightweight maroon sweater with his staple black skinny jeans and oxfords. He had the same necklace he wears everyday hanging around his neck landing on his chest. His chocolate curls were pulled off of his face and in that moment i realized just how attractive Brad actually was. What? Paige get your head straight.

"What are you doing here?" I finally questioned.

"Having dinner with my family and my dad's partner's family. How about you?" He smirked at me.

"Seriously why are you standing in front of the bathroom door?" I asked him seriously, not amused by smart remark.

"I was bored"

"So you find it fun standing in front of bathrooms? I don't think it's very fun especially if your there," I responded to his stupid answer.

"When are you going to stop acting like you know everything about me?" He questioned me, his dark eyes burning into mine.

"When are you going to stop acting like you never did anything?" I fired back at him.

"I didn't do what you think I did," he

answered finally dropping his eyes from mine.

"That's just the lie you tell everybody else the truth is I do know what you did. I saw the way he was hurt, I saw the finger marks still fresh around his neck," I said a little shakily remembering the way Sam looked that day I found out about what had happened.

"What about if I told you it wasn't me that did that to him?" He said with a straight face.

"Then I wouldn't believe you," I turned and started walking away from him.

"Then I won't stop till you do."
