We responded to a building.....CPD and the FBI surrounding it. "What's happening?" I asked Voight as soon as I stepped out of the truck and found him. "There's a suspected arsonist holding everyone in there hostage. There's already people injured." He explained. I nodded. I called for Severide, Otis, Kidd, and Cruz to help me get those injured people out. We did, but the suspect spotted me. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" He yelled. "Saving people," I replied, then nodded for Severide to stay with me, "unlike you." The suspect yelled at and cussed me out. I found a rod lying on the ground, and quickly picked it up. The suspect lunged at me and I struck him with the rod. He didn't fall, though his head was bleeding. He snatched the rod from me threw it on the ground. Some of the hostages quietly snuck out while the others hid. "You think you're tough, huh?" He growled. "No. I know I am." I replied. With that, he punched me and we fought. Severide tried to intervene, but the suspect kicked him in the gut. "Severide!" I yelled, worried about my friend and brother. "I'm alright." Severide grunted. The suspect then pulled a knife out of his holster. "You'd better not!" I exclaimed, then told Severide, "Radio Voight!" Right after I said that, the suspect jabbed the knife in my hip and I yelled in pain. Voight and some FBI agents rushed in. Severide quickly got me out while Voight and FBI agents rescued remaining hostages and arrested the suspect.
I gasped in pain as Jimmy and Gabby lifted me onto the stretcher and into the ambulance. Gabby drove while Jimmy and Sylvie stayed in the back with me. We arrived shortly at the hospital. "I hate being the frequent flyer." I told Jimmy, sarcastically as I was put in a triage room. Halstead and Manning took over. Manning hooked me to a morphine IV. Jimmy, Severide, Gabby, and Sylvie waited in the waiting room. "Okay, Caroline, we're going to have to get you to the OR. There's no way to inject anesthesia or put you under anesthesia. That knife is close to a vital artery and we're running out of time." Halstead explained. "Can I have someone in the OR with me?" I asked. Just before Halstead replied, Severide entered the room and said, "I will." I asked why and he explained. Halstead approved. Just after they prepped me for surgery and before I was rolled to the OR, Jimmy kissed my forehead and wished me luck. I thanked him. Then, it was surgery time. They layed me on the table on the opposite hip, the one without the knife in it. I took a deep breath. Next thing I knew, I felt Halstead make an incision. I held myself from yelling. Severide assured me, "Don't be afraid to yell, sister." I grinned and laughed a little and said, "Okay, brother." I replied. As soon as I said that, I felt more incisions, spacers being inserted, and the knife being pulled out. I yelled in pain. Then, they stitched and bandaged me up and slowly rolled me on my back. "You alright?" Halstead asked me. I nodded. I thanked Severide for understanding and asked him to get Jimmy. Right after I said that, I was rolled into a recovery room. Jimmy saw me and followed. "Hey sweetheart. You okay?" He asked. "I suppose so." I replied.
