An hour later, Jimmy and I sat in Jimmy's mother's room while Hermann, Sylvia, and the crew were keeping vigil in the waiting room. Jimmy's mother was on a ventilator. Jimmy held my hand. We cried, talked to her although she couldn't hear us, and prayed for the best. Little did we know, she would go into another cardiac arrest. Choi, Latham, and some nurses rushed in and tried to revive her, but she never did. Choi called it. I looked at the clock. It was 2:30 in the afternoon. Jimmy and I slowly walked to the waiting room. Boden stood up, "Is she...." I nodded, Jimmy and I emotionally exhausted. Gabby handed Sylvia to me. I sat down and cried with her in my arms. I felt her little hands wipe my tears. I smiled and said, "Thank you, love bug." She let out the cutest laugh I have ever heard. Jimmy kneeled in front of Sylvia and I and we embraced, careful not to squish Sylvia.

The funeral was five days after Jimmy's mother's death. It was a small gathering, my parents, his father, Sylvia, and a few of the 51 crew attended. After that, it was day after day of food and sympathy for the next week. Things got slightly better then. Jimmy's dad took over in watching and taking care of Sylvia. One particular day at work, I looked at Jimmy, lovingly and told him, "We will be alright. God has a plan for us." He embraced me, smiled, and said, holding back tears, "I know, sweetheart." We each worked hard to provide for each other and Sylvia.
