The Purge

Chapter 2

Chapter 2: Charlie's POV

A scream for help came from outside the house. I ran to the window while my family looked around confused.

"PLEASE! You can't leave me out here! Help me! Anybody! PLEASE!"

I could tell this man wasn't joking. He looked sweaty, and I could see some blood running down the side of his face. I felt deep inside me, sorry for him. Then I did something I knew I shouldn't. I pressed "Open Door" on the security system. I pulled the handle down and shouted out to the sobbing man "Here! Over here!"

My dad yelled at me "SHUT THE DOOR!" But I didn't listen. The man turned around and started sprinting towards me. "Charlie!" My mum cried. The man was running closer and closer. I was starting to panic. Was this just a trick? I was starting to close the door again but the man started sobbing again.

"Stop! Please! I won't hurt you!"

Then my dad grabbed me by the shoulders and flung me away. The man was running up the path now, so close to my door..... He fell to his knees and put his hand together.

"Thank-you, thank-you! How can I ever repay you?!" He sobbed, his dark skin covered with wet tears.

"By getting your sorry ass the hell off our property!" My dad yelled.

"Please, I beg you, let me seek safety under your roof through out The Purge." The man cried. He looked so manly, muscly and in control, but with him kneeling on our doorstep with watering eyes, he honestly looked like a baby. My dad stared into his wet eyes.

"Get down in the basement," my dad groaned. The man opened his mouth.

"Not a word!" My dad yelled.

After locking the stranger under the house, dad came back and spoke to me.

"Never let anyone in again!" My dad said "Just because he looked lost doesn't mean he is."

"Dad, I could sense it in his voice. He wasn't joking."

Dad was about to reply when there was a knock at the door. My heart skipped a beat. Who was it? There was only one way to find out. Mum and Zoe came sprinting into the room.

"Someone is knocking!" Zoe whispered.

"Someone is here!" My mum gasped.

That's when someone lay a hand on Zoe's shoulder.
