Chapter 9: Charlie's POV

Great! Now I was going to take place in some real action! I was about to come a super hero! Batman, Superman and The Hulk were all about to become my best friends. I took the strangers hand and jumped up the basement stairs, two at a time. Then he did something my dad would never do. He gave me a gun, sat me down and taught me how to use it. Oh my god. This is so COOL! We walked up to the front door and snuck behind the sofa.

"Ok Charlie, now this is very serious. Stay here." The man instructed. Since I trusted him I did. While he crept to the very edge of the couch and pointed his gun out, ever so slowly. Then he took the shot. BANG! If these gun shots keep up, I'll go deaf soon. Something large dropped to the ground and the stranger turned around and gave a thumbs up. I smiled and gave a thumbs up back.

A freaky masked person was coming towards my stranger friend. I yelled out a warning to him and as quick anything, he turned around and stuck a knife into his stomach. The person let out a groan and stumbled backwards onto the floor. I gagged a little at the sight of it, but I was going to have to get used to The Purge. High-Fiving my buddy, we both moved onto a broken window that the odd people have been getting in by. When the stranger peered through it, he turned around suddenly and whispered one word to me.

"Run."
