Hunters. It used to be a job for people who kill monsters for food or fun. Now, they are heroes. Ever since monsters overpopulate the people, everyone needs hunters. From protections, gathering, to even saving defenseless people from bandits or others alike.
When i was a kid I've always wanted to be one. Because then, people would at least give me a little bit of respect instead of throwing me rocks and calling me weird names. Maybe one day I'll be a really famous hunter who save countless people and all the beautiful elven ladies will come chasing a hero like me huehuehue.

"Hey, Rex!" a rough voice woke me up from that beautiful daydream. "Stop drooling while staring at the sky, help me with the smithing will ya?" said Ruster while he carry a bucket full of iron ingot ready to be transformed into weapons.

"Yeah yeah, whatever you say Rus." i said as i wipe my drools and continue filling a bucket with iron ingots. "So why do we have to work manual labor with minimum wage again?" i asked while handing him a bucket full of iron ingot.

"Because we need to pay the bills for our home. not to mention all the debts. Besides we're Beastlings, that's what we can do. we have stronger bodies than humans or elves." as Ruster began to melt the irons.

"Hey, I'm only half beastling!"
"Yeah, heard that countless times. Your father was a Fox Beastling who are extinct-"
"Which is not true" i interrupted.
"Right, and your mother was a human. You've told me a bijillion times already." Rus' expression turns serious "But seriously, is that really all you know of your parents?"
"yeah, i don't even remember what they look like..."
Rus sees my face and feels a little worried. So he quickly change topic. "a-anyway, we better work hard for our bothers and sisters at the Beast House"
I let out a big sigh then show him a bright smile to not let him feel worried "Well said my big kitty muscular comrade brother thing! LET US WORK HARD!" Then i handed him a bucket full of iron ingot.
Rus grabs the bucket and smiles back at me "That's the spirit!" then Ruster began to continue his work.

I can't really blame him for asking that question. I mean, that's all that i remember from my parents. The only thing i know is that my mother entrusted the baby me to Madam Lyla who was and is in charge of the Beast House. And that's all that i know of my parents. And every time i ask Madam Lyla about my parents, she always have that sad face on. So as the most kind hearted (not really) man beast person that i am, i changed the topic. Never again have i asked her about it. I guess you can say that i am happy of what i have now.
