I had to tell somebody. My stomachs gonna grow, and then they'll figure out that I've been hiding it. What am I going to do? I didn't want to get kicked out of marching band, so I went to the band hall during after school practice and called my band director and my best friend into a private meeting in his office. I began to get nervous as I thought about how I should say this, and then I began to think about their reactions. Regretting it as it came out I just blurted out "I think I may be pregnant." Just as I expected, their faces went blank. The first question Mr. Windsor said was " Does your mom or any of your family know?" And then I thought about how I was supposed to tell my mom. "No" I answered sadly with my head down looking at my growing belly. And then my best friend Nicholas said "You can't play cymbals anymore." "What!" I exclaimed almost jumping out of my chair. And then he said " yeah you need to sit out, since I'm the drum major, I say you just sit out and be my assistant." I didn't mind that idea, in fact I smiled instantly once it clicked in my head that I still could go to events with the band.
Mr. Windsor said " That's not a bad idea." So there it is. I went from head cymbal to drum majors assistant. Honestly I felt special.
