Chapter Thirteen
The door began to open wider letting more and more light into John's confined space. He wasn't sure if he was ready to feel relief. He hadn't a clue what was happening and if it was good or not.
A shadow of a figure appeared in the, now completely opened, door frame.
John couldn't tell who it was, the light blinded his eyes, they had yet to adjust. He felt panic creep into his system, could it be Moriarty? What would he be doing? Or possibly Sebastian here to torture him?
Or, was it exactly who he wanted..Sherlock Holmes?
"Sherlock, is that you?" He said, his eyes squinted; still adjusting to the light.
The figure stepped closer, and John could see the outline better.
To his disappointment it was not his detective, the figure was too short.
Who then?
"Who are you?" John asked, not sure if he was to trust this figure. He put all senses on alert.
The figure stepped closer into the container, and close to John.
A blue light caught John's eyes, and a strange noise emitted from the thing that cast the blue light. The figure held something, which was pointed at his cuffed hands, and John was unsure of what it could be.
His right hand was released and next his left, soon enough all his clamped down limbs were free.
John rubbed his wrists, alternating which wrist got rubbed every so often, and stretched.
Then he remembered the figure, who stood there as waiting for him to finish.
"Who are you? Why'd you help me?" John repeated. He took a step away from the person. Prepared to defend himself, but why would he need to if they were helping him escape?
The figure stepped into the light and John's eyes had adjusted enough to be able to see. His eyes widened in surprise. Questions crowded his mind.
