Chapter 21

Pressure Point

"..Sherlock who now?" Rose asked, looking to The Doctor even though she could hardly see him.

"Sherlock Holmes." Sherlock said stiffly.

"Sherlock- Like the one in books?" Rose asked, confused.

"Yes, well not here, he's only in books in your universe." The Doctor explained, rolling his eyes slightly, as it was obvious- but then again not everyone was a 900 year old time traveling genius.

"Where's the little funny hat you wear and the..the pipe?" Rose gestured to Sherlock's head and giggled.

"Deerstalker, and I don't smoke, I-"

"He's a modern day version, not the Victorian style, therefor everything is a little different." The Doctor said quickly explaining, too impatient for everything to be explained. "To more important matters, Sherlock, how did you manage to escape?"

Sherlock cleared his throat, "By fooling Moriarty."

"Ah, right..and how'd you manage that?" The Doctor asked, waiting for a better answer.

"Not necessary Doctor, what's necessary is how I've got a plan to save John and us."

"What's that?" Rose asked, making sure they knew she was in the conversation.

"We'll need to get to the TARDIS, that's all you need to know for now. Doctor, do you think you could manage to get us out of here?" Sherlock explained, looking back and forth between the two.

The trio worked their way back to the TARDIS quickly, but The Doctor had a lurking suspicion that something wasn't right. He couldn't pinpoint why, but he couldn't shake the feeling away.

"Alright, we're here. What now?" The Doctor asked, keeping a watchful eye on Sherlock.

"What I need is to talk to Rose, alone. Could you leave us for a moment?" Sherlock asked, managing to make himself act normal and not seem too obvious to raise alarming amounts of suspicion.

"And what-"

"Yes, you can talk to me." Rose rolled her eyes at the Doctor. It was her choice, not the doctors. He could play the jealous boyfriend later, when they weren't conspiring against both their nemeses. "Doctor, only for a moment. Please."

The Doctor grumbled but agreed and left them alone in the console room.

"Soo, what do you need to talk to me for?" Rose asked. What could Sherlock Holmes want from her?

"Bad Wolf. You're Bad Wolf."

Rose nodded, "Yep, that'd be me. Unless you're mixing me up with the Good Wolf?" She muttered sarcastically.

He ignored her sarcastic remark. "Tell me how you became this 'bad wolf', was it perhaps caused by something from the TARDIS?" Sherlock asked, his face changing to a serious- something along the lines of what John would call Sherlock's 'interview and deduce' expression. His eyes scanning her up and down, trying to read it from her but none of her said anything of Bad Wolf.

"Um, yeah, close. It's kind of a long story.." Rose said, looking away and rubbing her arm.

"Any other day, that might be a 'reasonable' excuse to not tell it but today is not the day." Sherlock said, his expression hardening and eyes giving her an icy look. It was almost enough to make her shiver.

Rose decided it would be best to tell him if it meant aiding the situation, she wasn't sure how but didn't feel like questioning the detective she had been so enchanted by as a young girl.

Sherlock nodded, tucking away the information in his mind palace for when he'd need it. "That'll be all Ms. Tyler."

"You're welcome." Rose said, giving him an annoyed look. She figured she'd look for The Doctor, she wasn't sure what interest Sherlock had in her or the TARDIS but The Doctor should know. Rose left Sherlock behind in the console room, picking up her pace to find The Doctor, finding him in the library. He was laying upside down in a chair, his eyes scanning the book and shutting it with a slam.

"Rose!" His eyes lit up when he saw her. Rose smiled at him and took a seat in the soft identical arm chair next to his.

"I think you should know what Sherlock and I were talking about." Rose said, her smiling slipping away. "He was very intrigued with the TARDIS, which I mean most people would be and should be but.."

"Yes, go on." The Doctor motioned for her to continue with his hand.

"But.. he was also extremely persistent that I tell him about how I opened the soul of the TARDIS, in as much detail as I could. That's what worries me."

The Doctor's eyes widened in alertness, "Where's he?"

"I-I left him by the console.." Rose answered, leaning back as he sprung from his position and already running out the door, leaving her to attempt to follow. They found the console room to be empty and left without a trace or touch of the detective.

**

Sherlock walked in the shadows, slipping into the room quietly with his eyes fixed on John. His eyes scanned over him, seeing his wounds again only made Sherlock even more sure that he had to do what Moriarty wanted.

"I've got what you want, Moriarty, release him. Now." Sherlock said, stepping from the shadow he'd hidden in. Moriarty twirled on his ankle to face Sherlock, a smug smile mocking Sherlock and waved his hand towards two chairs. Moriarty knew as long as Sherlock cared about John, he'd get anything he wanted.

"Let's hear it first."
