Chapter Sixteen

The Game Plan

"Are you sure you know where he is?" John asked Rose. He closed his eyes reviewing the plan Rose had just laid before him. Any faults? Hopefully not. Would it be easy? Probably not, it never is. Sane? Nothing is anymore.

"Mostly yes. You'll have to trust me." Rose smiled briefly. She placed a hand on John's shoulder and squeezed it reassuringly. In a friendly way. "Ready to put our plan into action?"

John nodded and gave her a quick smile as well. He felt his palms become clammy. This plan would be interesting but it was now or never. John also missed Sherlock terribly, which is more than he would have admitted before but now he didn't care. He counted the moments until his eyes would meet with those blue-green ever changing eyes of Sherlock's.

"M'kay. Let's head out. If anything goes wrong come back here and wait. If you don't see anyone for a good long time and you feel it's right then get out of here." Rose said.

"Right. Sounds good enough."

"Allons-y!" Rose said with a small smile before unlatching the lock from the heavy metal door and as quietly as the door would allow.

They both crept out of the room, Rose slightly in front of John since she was the one behind the plan. They continued down the hall, the opposite direction where they had come from earlier to get to the room. The hallway and everywhere was dark but from being in complete black both of their eyes had adjusted and they could make their way enough to not trip- too much. Occasionly Rose would hesitate to listen and make sure they were still undetected (Stuff she had learn from cop shows.) and they would bump into each other. John learned after a few times when to stop.

"So, is he really the great Sherlock Holmes?" Rose whispered as they crept along.

"Great? Maybe." John snorted. "He's brilliant and a genius, yeah, but he can be...moody. But he's still better than a lot of people."

"I can't believe it. I've read about him in the stories and I never expected-"

"Stories, what stories?" John cut her off mid-sentence.

"Oh, right. This must be an alternate universe. Well, in my universe you and Sherlock are just stories created by Arthur Conan Doyle. You're fictional in my universe. That's why I didn't think you were the literal John Watson when we met." Rose said, excited and trying to overcome the fact that she met John Watson and was going to save Sherlock Holmes. THE Sherlock Holmes!

"Alternate Universes, what now?" John's face scrunched in confusion. "We're fictional?"

"The Doctor is a time traveler, and he has a space ship called the TARDIS that can take you anywhere in the whole universe at any time period. There are several universes and the one I live in..you're fictional." Rose explained, and hoped John wouldn't think she was crazy.

"Okay? I guess." John shrugged, although he did find the idea far-fetched and strange but Rose had yet to be proven crazy. It just seemed like one of those days, too, where such a thing could be possible. John wondered what Sherlock would say to such a thing as illogical as this. Probably say an insult or that it was a waste of time then rely on John for entertainment for the lack of a case. John wished that would be happening, but instead he was stuck in this peculiar situation.

"I thought you'd think I was mad." She laughed.

"Maybe you are, but some of the best people are." John chuckled, feeling glad for a moment of relief from stress and feeling nervous.

Rose stopped in her tracks and pointed in front of her, "Up there, I think we could use those." She turned back and smiled at him before walking to the objects.

John followed her and looked at the empty shells of the Cybermen, giving him shivers. "You sure their..dead?"

"Positive. Now let's get geared up." Rose nodded before pulling the thing she called a sonic screwdriver from her pocket. "It'll be a moment probably so just be on the look out and let me know if any trouble comes."

John followed her order and stayed on the look out while Rose figured out on how to get the suits opened. After what seemed only moments, Rose was calling John over telling him to get in the suit, which John was iffy on but Rose pushed him in whether he wanted to or not. Soon, they were both suited up and ready to save The Doctor and Sherlock in their disguises.

They had gotten this far, what could possibly stop them now?
