For the past week, me and Keith have became extremely close while my mother- on the other hand, has been acting unusually nice. Something that was way out of her character.
As happy as I wanted to be, something in the back of my mind told me to keep my guard up.
Our week break was coming to a close and I had finally made plans with Keith to meet my best friend today for one specific reason.
She told me to.
"How do I look," Keith asked for the hundredth time today, his sweaty hands rubbing over his black straight leg jeans. If it wasn't obvious enough the man was nervous with no real reason to be.
"Fine," I said plainly stated as I rung her doorbell humming a familiar tune.
I heard him kiss his teeth, dusting off invisible dirt that lingered on his expensive and over the top attire.
"You didn't even look at me," he fussed glaring down at me. I continued to block him out before sighing loudly.
"Where is this girl," I asked myself, my left index finger jamming the doorbell repeatedly.
"What the hell are you doing?," he hissed, tugging my wrist away from its assault on the bell.
"Relax," I grinned at the uneasy giant, my hand snaking around the copper doorknob.
His eyes follow my hand like a hawk, "I swear Nyna, if you do what I think you're doing-"
The sound of the door sudden opening scared him and I making us jump back slightly at the abrupt creak.
"So you haven't seen me in 4 days and you think you can just show up to-"
"Get out the way," I laughed, my right hand clasping onto Keith's large palm while I moved inside the large home.
Keith's fingers entwined with mine tightly, his body heat radiating off onto me by how close he was.
"Fine just come in," Beatrice voice sarcastically spoke out loud, shutting the tall white door in the process.
"Baby," His warm breath fanned over my neck, his hand squeezing mine softly.
I hummed quietly at the sensation before sitting down on her leather loft getting comfortable.
"Relax Keith," I said, patting the spot next to me, "she not gonna bite," I laughed wiggling my eyebrows.
His cheeks flushed but irritation coated his attitude as he scratched the back of his neck.
"Yeah, I'm not gonna bite, if anything," she stated eyeing him, "I might as well swallow-"
"Stop being nasty," I warned her, pointing at the small girl.
She rolled her eyes before sitting in the single love seat, her legs crossed over each other.
"I'm just kidding, you know if Bryshere heard me-"
"You already know I'll beat that ass," Bryshere's familiar voice shouted from her kitchen, his bobble head peaking out the door.
We all laugh while Beatrice rolled her eyes at him before giving him the bird.
"Where's lil Kim at?," I questioned, my head leaning on Keith's broad shoulder. On instinct, his arm wrapped around my waist, his head resting on my own.
Beatrice eyes danced mischievously flicking from me to him, her eyebrows raised.
"Fuck off,"I mouthed to her, but knowing her, she'll make me beg.
