A Dark Love Story

Chapter 17

Yvanna's POV

We were driving for almost an hour when i felt my phone buzz. It was my mom. I forgot today was Monday and we were supposed to go back to school

Mom: YVANNA WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU. AND DON'T YOU DARE TELL ME THAT YOU'RE AT SCHOOL BECAUSE I ALREADY CALLED AND THEY SAID YOU WEREN'T THERE. IN FACT, NOR YOU, BROOKE, ALISHA OR CARISMA ARE AT SCHOOL. START EXPLAINING NOW

My mom was pissed. I had totally lost track of the days. 

Me: Mom I'm so sorry. I didn't even know that today was Monday. I completely lost track of the days.

Mom: YVANNA WHERE ARE YOU!!??!!

Me: I'm uh...with my friends...

Mom: GET YOUR ASS TO SCHOOL RIGHT NOW OR YOUR GROUNDED!!

I didn't know what to do. We were already way too far away from the school. I showed the text to Alisha and Carisma. "Oh crap i totally forgot" Alisha said. "My mom is gonna kill me" Carisma said. I could tell that Alex and Travis were a bit confused. "What's the matter" Travis asked. I showed him the text "We were supposed to go to school today...but we forgot. If we don't get to school today we're gonna be in so much trouble". Travis thought for a moment then smiled "that's ok. You girls don't have to be involved in this whole thing with Laila. When we get there I'll drive you girls to school and then we'll come pick you up when you guys get out so we can save Brooke". We all nodded "thank you Travis" i said. "No problem" he said kissing my cheek. 

After a little bit longer we finally made it to a house in the woods. It was really small and looked kind of old. Jacklyn turned to us "Travis drive the girls to school. Including Ive. Alex you go with them. I'll talk to her myself". Jacklyn got out of the car and let Travis get into the drivers seat. Jacklyn went to knock on the door and Travis drove us away. 

Jacklyn's POV

I knocked on the door and stood there for a few minutes. I was about to knock again but the door flew open. I looked down and there stood Laila. She had long black hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. She looked shocked to see me. "Jacklyn..what are you doing here" she asked. I sighed "I..need your help with something". She nodded "uh...come in". 

I walked inside and sat on her couch. "So uh...what do you need help with" she asked. I sat back on the couch "It's Darion...he kidnapped the girl i love because he still thinks i had something to do with your death". She kind of glared at me "the...girl you love" she asked. I nodded "yeah..heh...never thought i would move on". She sat down "so...what do you want me to do" she asked. I sat up "Well...i was hoping that you could...ya know..show him your alive so he doesn't hurt her...I'm not in the best condition to fight...but i will if i have to". She stood up "Jacklyn i can't just turn up alive after five years of being dead". I stood up as well "Please Laila. This is really important". She shook her head and turned away "no...I'm sorry but..i can't". I sighed "fine...whatever..i can do this on my own". I turned around and left without looking back. I sat on her front porch and waited for Travis and Alex to return.

Alisha's POV

We drove for about an hour until we finally made it. We were super late.

Travis parked in the parking lot and the we all got out. Except for Ive since she couldn't go to school. Alex got out as well. Alex hugged me tight and kissed me over and over. Travis did the same with Yvanna. Carisma just rolled her eyes "come on guys" she said. Alex put his hand on my cheek "I'll see you after school alright" he said. I nodded and kissed his cheek. We watched as Travis, Alex and Ive got back into the car and drove away. Just then the bell rang. I looked at my phone to check the time. It was 12:56pm. "LUNCH TIME" Yvanna and i said at the exact same time. Then Carisma, Yvanna and i headed towards the lunchroom. 

When we got to the entrance to the lunchroom, our friend Yae was standing outside. Yvanna and i looked at each other, smiled, then looked back. Then we tackled Yae into a hug. "i missed you girls so much you have no idea" he said. "we missed you too" we again said at the exact same time. Carisma just ignored us and walked inside. 

Yvanna's POV

We stood up and laughed "sooooo how has school been going" I asked. He smiled "eh..it's been ok i guess..". I nodded "good to here". Alisha jumped up "c'mon guys it's lunch time and I'm starving" she said running into the lunchroom. Yae and i both laughed and followed behind her. 

Jacklyn's POV

I was sitting on Laila's porch for a while. Just then, Laila came out and sat next to me "hey...I'm sorry i can't help you" she said. I rolled my eyes "It's not that you can't...you won't". She sighed "Jacklyn please you need to understand tha--" i cut her off "oh i understand perfectly Laila...only thinking about yourself". She stood up "Ok first of all don't fucking cut me off. Second, you have no idea what I've been through". I stood up as well "and you have no idea what I've been through". She stood there in silence. A few seconds later she spoke "do you wanna know why i won't help you Jacklyn". I rolled my eyes "please tell me because i really wanna know why you can't do something for someone else. So please tell me why". She clenched her fists and looked up at me "I LOVE YOU JACKLYN".
