Hello! I'm new to watt pad,so I don't really know how to do anything, but please bear with me. I'll learn (hopefully!) :) This is positioned a few moons after Erin Hunter's "The Last Hope" and many of the characters are hers. All the others are mine:)
So, I present........ Shademist's Destiny!
Prologue
A black she cat steps into the misty forest, starlight making her fur sparkle.
"Firestar?" she mews.
The fiery tom turns his head."Yes, Hollyleaf? What is it?"
she turns her gaze to Thunderclan territory. In the river bordering Windclan, two dark bundles sit shivering on a rock."It's her!" she gasps. The orange tom nods.
"And her sister as well.I'm afraid her destiny lies elsewhere." as he speaks, the wind picks up, plunging a kit into the water. She wails as the river carries her out to Shadowclan territory.
The two starry cats watch sadly. The other kit whimpers and reaches out for the now empty space.
She yelps as she falls into the freezing water. Tiny paws churning, she tries to hold on to something. Her head dips under, and her eyes open to the cold.
Straining, she breaches the surface again and grabs hold of a rock. Trembling with the effort, she heaves herself up onto the rock and collapses. Firestar smiles.
"A strong one, this cat is." Hollyleaf's green eyes spark with worry.
"I'll see if she's alright." She pads down to the kit and nuzzles her. Blue-gray eyes open with surprise, and she swipes at the air, landing a blow on the starry cat's muzzle. She smiles.
"She's fine." The kit yowls as she is overtaken by shivers.
Hollyleaf murmurs,"We will always be here for you, little one." and nods to Firestar. They both disappear in a flash of light. The kit looks around, confused. A twig snaps, and a figure appears in the darkness.
"Savior of the clans?"a voice scoffs.
"Why not kill her now?"another rasps.
"No savior, no clans."
A third voice growls,"No,we need her. If we convince her to join us, we have a serious advantage over them.Wait a few moons........."
Chapter 1- The Mission
"Shh! Quiet!" I mew softly.
"Target approaching." Lightningkit reports.
"Okay, Silverkit? Emberkit? Ready?" I ask. Three pairs of eager eyes stare back at me.
"Let's do this." I flick my tail and we spread out. I fix my gaze on the target's back. I slide out my claws.
"Attack!" I yowl as we launch into combat. Lionblaze topples over.
"Oh, no!You've killed me!" he groans. I laugh.
"But we surprised you, didn't we?" He gets up with a purr.
"Yes, my little warrior, that was a well planned attack. I didn't even realize you four were outside!"
I smile.
"Emberkit came up with the idea, Silverkit planned the hiding spots, Lightningkit spread us out."
Emberkit steps beside me.
"And you lead the attack! You're the one who brought us all together, Shadekit."
I shrug.
"You guys make it easy." Lionblaze, my father, smiles with pride.
"Shadekit, you're a natural leader. I'm proud of you."
I'm about to reply, when Daisy bursts out of the nursery.
"The little ones! They're gone! All three of them!" She wails.
"Applekit,Treekit, and Honeykit!" I gasp. I call the others to me. "I don't think they're in camp. We have to find them! I know a way out of here." I turn to Emberkit.
"You distract them and then follow us out. Okay?" He nods, determined.
"StormClan on three. One, two, three, StormClan!!"
We call ourselves StormClan because the elders had once said something and it stuck.
'You four will storm through the forest like tigers as apprentices.' I motion for them to follow me. We leap into a secret tunnel we found a few sunrises ago and crawl through it.
Emberkit finds us at the other side moments later.
"I told them I'd found the kits' scent leading up the rock wall."
I stare at him. "I hope no cat gets hurt trying to climb up......" He shakes his tabby head.
"They just went up to the top to check for scents."
I nod. We check for any signs of the kits, searching through the undergrowth. After a while, I spot tiny paw prints leading off into denser forest. It seems to lead out of clan territory, into unknown woods.
"I found it!" I call. The other kits join me.
"Are you sure we should be doing this?"Emberkit squeaks. I shove him lightly.
"It could be fun."
My sister adds,"Their lives could depend on it."
I nod, and step over the border. Hmm. Nothing unusual, no enemy warriors or foxes coming to eat us, like the elders had talked about.
Just stories to scare us into not leaving the camp.
"Let's do this." I growl, breaking into a sprint. My denmates streak beside me, laughing at the thrill of a forest run. The trail leads off to the right.
"This way!" I call, veering to the side. Up ahead, the kit-scent grows stronger. One tiny kit sits cowering in a pile of leaves.
Treekit. I pick him up and pass him to Emberkit. The other two kits yowl above me, dangling from the talons of a giant, brown, hawk. It's piercing yellow eyes glare at me as it lifts off the branch with a fearsome shriek.
"Shadekit! Help us!" Applekit screeches.
"Lightningkit! Follow me!" I snarl as I launch up the nearest tree. Reaching the top, I let out a battle cry. We leap at the hawk, claws out.
I sink my claws into its chest, feeling blood pour out. He lands on a leg, scrabbling for Honeykit. He grabs her and slices the hawk's wing with a growl.
It roars in pain and releases them. He lands on a branch and claws at it to pull himself up. Honeykit dangles limply from his mouth, eyes wide and scared. The hawk stabs my foreleg with its beak, and I cry out in pain.
I reach for Applekit and grab her by the scruff. Yanking her away from the sharp talons, I slice at the creature's face. It screeches and slashes at my left eye, warm blood spills out onto my paws as it shakes me off and I plummet towards the ground.
"Shadekit!" Emberkit yowls. I curl around Applekit, my eye burning in agony as we hit the ground, jarring my whole body. I stand and shake dead leaves off of my fur.
"What's wrong with your eye?" Applekit squeaks. I pull a tuft of fur over my eye to hide the blood. She isn't old enough to see injuries like that. I don't think I am either.....
"Nothing. Are you alright?" she nods eagerly.
"That was so cool! You and Lightningkit came in and attacked it! You're so brave!" I smile and take her in my mouth. I limp over to Emberkit and give her to him.
I stumble and my leg collapses under my weight, bringing me to the ground. Lightningkit shouts my name and runs over. I close my eyes as pain overtakes me. My head pounding, I listen to them yelling back and forth.
Silverkit growls,"Enough. We need to get Jayfeather."
They stop arguing. I open my eyes and try to stand,my sister helping me. I limp for a little while, barely able to see because of the blood dripping into my eyes. Silverkit helps guide me with her tail as we plod along in silence. I crash into something, and Silverkit gasps. "I'm sorry!" Darkness overtakes me, and the world spins into nothingness.
