Chapter 3 and 4

Chapter 3

I sigh.

"Let's get this over with." We pad in silence to the gray queen. Her dark tail twitches.

"What were you thinking? Going out of camp like that!"

Her eyes soften suddenly.

"Shadekit,you're hurt." She licks at my leg as I pull away

"I'm fine."

"Alright,who's idea was it to fight a hawk way outside ThunderClan territory?"

I lower my head. "Mine. I take full responsibility for leading them out of camp. Don't blame them."

She smiles."I admire your honesty, Shadekit. Since what you did was also very brave, nobody will be punished." I laugh with relief.

"We did it! We actually fought a hawk all on our own!" My sister breathes with awe.

Lionblaze pads over. "There's my two little warriors!" He licks our heads.

"I heard what you did today." His eyes shine with pride. I dip my head.

"It wasn't just us." He nods.

"But it was your idea." I smile.

"But if they weren't there I'd probably be dead."

Cinderheart calls, "Bedtime for you guys!"

Moons later.............

"......Dovewing will be your mentor."

I reach up to touch noses with her.

"Hi." I mew quietly. She smiles.

"We'll make an amazing team, Shadepaw."

After the ceremony, I get a tour of the territory. We head back to camp at sundown. The forest is HUGE! We even saw a deer, which almost never happens.

"Head to your nest. Tomorrow at sunrise we'll work on hunting." She yawns. I nod and head to my new den.

" 'Night, Silverpaw, Emberpaw, Lightningpaw."

They yawn their replies and I fall asleep. I walk beside a river, calm water reflecting my scarred face.

I pull the tuft over it. I've become very hood at hiding it. I still can't believe no cat has noticed it. I look up, seeing a tom sitting atop a rock, staring in front of him. Sunlight shines on his pelt, making it look like flames.

"Firestar?" I stammer, saying the name of the legendary leader. He smiles.

"Yes, follow me."

He flicks his ears and I follow. Even though my legs are the longest of all the apprentices, I still struggle to keep up with him.

We head to a clearing full of cats. My fellow denmates look around, clearly as confused as I am. A beautiful she cat steps up.

"Attention!"she calls. It's Spottedleaf! I thought she died in the Dark Forest battle!

"We have a prophecy for you four." Her eyes flash green.

"The darkness will continue,to be stopped only by the Five. Only when united can they stop the bloodshed."

I try to yowl out, to ask what it means,when StarClan blurs and fades away. A voice whispers,

"The Dark cats have returned, and the Shaydes have followed. Beware......."

I jerk awake, panting. The others look the same way, scared out of their fur.

"Let's tell Jayfeather!" I whisper, streaking out of the den. I almost crash into Amberleaf, who lets out a startled gasp.
