Jennifer didn't look back after lashing out at Alex, she just kept on walking out of school and into the parking lot. She searched all her pockets as she approached her car but there was no sign of her keys.

"Fuck!" She yelled, clenching her already beat up fist and rattled it off the closest lamppost. Of course, instantly regretting that stupid decision as she was convinced that she heard a crack. Whilst crying out in pain and being reduced to tears, Jennifer quickly grabbed her phone out of her pocket with her other hand and called her dad.

"Jennifer?"

The girl couldn't find any words at first as she just sobbed down the line, leaning against her car with her hand in agony.

"Jennifer, what's wrong?"

"I was in a f-fight..." She sniffed. "I'm outside at my car, I've left my bag inside and don't have my keys." She sobbed. "I punched a lamppost and I think I've broken my hand. Dad it really hurts."

"Honey, I need you to calm down okay? I'm going to come and take you to the hospital but you need to stop crying."

"But it hurts so much." She cried, trying to move some of her fingers but it was too painful.

"I know sweetheart, I'm coming." Jennifer probably didn't realise it but this was reminding her father so much of when she was a little girl. Jennifer was a really clumsy kid and a little daredevil so she got injured constantly, broken arm, broken leg, broken ankle, broken nose, you name it and it's probably happened to Jennifer. Although it didn't matter how much she injured herself and tried to suck it up, she would end up always crying for her dad. "Jen, I need you to do something for me."

"Uh huh?" She sniffed hard, balancing her phone between her ear and shoulder so she could wipe her face with her uninjured hand.

"If you have any rings on that hand, take them all off just in case it starts to swell up."

"Okay." Jennifer slowly began pulling off her rings one by one before putting them in her pockets.

"I'm on my way alright?"

Doctor Jackson returned with the results of Jennifer's x-ray and the girl anxiously awaited to see if she had in fact broken something.

"Well Jennifer, it's not the best of news." The woman said sympathetically to the teenager. "If you take a look here, you've got a fracture in each of these two fingers." Jennifer followed the woman's finger as she carefully showed her the fractures in her pinkie and ring finger. "Now if these were the only fractures we could have just used a splint for the two fingers but you've actually managed to fracture a bone in your wrist here." Jennifer glanced down at her injured hand before following the doctor's finger which was pointing to her third fracture.

"Jesus, Jennifer, how hard did you hit that thing?" John turned to his daughter with a slight chuckle. The mood had lightened a little once Jennifer had been given painkillers for her hand and she was able to explain to her dad and the doctors what had happened.

"Adele's face or the lamppost?" She joked. If the fight was about anything else, John wouldn't have been happy at all for turning to violence but since the circumstances revolved around Jennifer's sexuality, he was glad she had stood up for herself. Of course, he knew he was still going to get called into school for a meeting with the principal.

"So, since you have a broken wrist, you will need a cast but those two fingers will have to be in the cast too so you'll only have your thumb and other two fingers free. Which hand is your dominant?" Doctor Jackson asked and Jennifer scoffed.
