"What do you mean they know?" Panic crossed Alex's face as she watched her girlfriend pace the floor.
"They went through my fucking phone!" Jennifer snapped in frustration. "Alex, I don't know what to do."
"Jennifer if they know then it just takes one person to overhear it at school and then we're screwed." Alex followed Jennifer to the couch and they both sat down.
"I know." The girl groaned into her hands.
"Jennifer..." Alex trailed off after a few moments, placing her hands onto Jennifer's thigh and giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Yeah?" Jennifer didn't lift her head from her hands, already knowing what Alex was going to suggest.
"I think we should take a break for a while..." It truly hurt Alex to say it because her time spent with Jennifer had brightened up her love life like never before.
"For how long?" Jennifer asked quietly, finally taking her hands away from her face to turn to Alex with sad eyes.
"Until we can figure out how to do this properly."
Jennifer nodded slowly, understanding where this was coming from but at the same time wishing that they could figure it out now so they could be together. She knew it was for the best though.
"I guess I'll get going." Jennifer announced, using all her will power to stop herself from crying as she stood up slowly from the couch in mind of her back.
"Wait." Alex stood up too and wrapped her arms around Jennifer's waist, giving her one last peck on the lips before pulling her into a hug. "This isn't goodbye, okay?"
"Okay." Jennifer pulled away and mustered up the best smile she could despite what she was feeling. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow." Alex watched Jennifer walk over to the door before closing it behind her. This isn't how she planned her Sunday to go.
With a frustrated sigh she threw herself down on the couch, pulling her phone out of her pocket. All she wanted to do was drink her troubles away with the person she opened up to most about things like this, Megan. She unlocked her phone and called the woman, pressing the device to her ear.
It rang and rang before the sound of Megan's answering machine made Alex groan in frustration. "Answer your stupid phone Meg!" Alex said after the beep before hanging up. She then started to scroll through her contacts, deciding on who she could talk to. She then hesitated at a name she never thought she'd call in a situation like this but called the number anyway.
"Alex, hey. You okay?"
"Uh can you come over? I really need someone to talk to right now."

When Jennifer got home, she made her presence quite clear as she slammed the front door behind her before storming into the kitchen where her family were busy cooking dinner together.
"I can't believe you did that!" She yelled, grabbing her sister's arm before pushing her.
"Woah!" John raised his voice and Jennifer ignored him, instead lunging at Eliza again, punching her in the arm.
"Get off me!" Eliza shrieked, trying to push her older sister away from her whilst slapping her on the arm to stop her from punching.
"Girls!" Caitlin yelled as she pulled her daughter away and John pulled his daughter away. "What on earth is going on?"
Jennifer kicked against her father's restraints before finally giving up. "She went through my fucking phone! She's such a fucking bitch!" Jennifer spat.
