****Peeta's POV****
Today is the day that our trip away to the beach for spring break starts. I'm all packed and ready to go but I'm just about the only one that is actually ready. I swear the guys are just as high maintenance as the girls, even Katniss will probably end up taking less than them.
It's a good job we're taking quite a few cars because if we weren't then I doubt we'd have enough space for all of the luggage. We're only going away for a week but you'd think we were going for a month or even moving out! And while we're there the girls will probably end up complaining that they have nothing to wear!
I only know this because I've been texting and face timing everyone as they've been sorting things out so that I knew how every one else was getting on but I still have no idea when we'll end up setting off.
I get into my car and set off to Johanna's where we're all meeting and them everyone's gonna follow my car to the house because I have the best idea of where we're going.
I park on the drive and then knock on the door which is quickly opened by a flustered looking Katniss,
"Are you okay Kat?"
"Yeah, I'm just rushing about trying to get ready. My suitcase is already full but I have a couple more things to pack, do you have any space left in your suitcase?"
"I haven't actually used a suitcase, I used my big backpack but there's a little space left in it."
"How did you manage to fit everything into that?"
"It wasn't hard. You just pack the necessities."
I quickly grab my bag out of the car and bring it upstairs to Katniss' room where there is an open suitcase on the bed but to be fair to her it is only a small suitcase, not a normal sized one that you would use to go abroad or anything. I help her close it and then she puts her straighteners, other hair stuff' make-up and chargers into the top of my bag,
"That's all that I need."
"Are you sure?"
She nods, "Yep. I'm all ready to go now."
"And you're sure you haven't forgotten anything?"
"Like what?"
"Like, a kiss for me maybe?"
She shakes her head and smirks,
"No. No. I don't think I did forget that."
"I'm pretty sure that you did."
She looks as through she's in deep thought for a minute and then she looks at me with a mischievous sparkle in her eye,
"Nope. Definitely didn't."
"Fine then. I'll be downstairs, waiting for everyone else."
I start to walk towards the door, knowing exactly what will happen now, "Wait... Maybe I did forget but maybe I only just realised."
I decide to mess with her, "Oh yeah. It's like that is it?"
She nods her head, "Yeah."
"That's a shame isn't it Kat?"
"Shut up and kiss me Peeta."
I do just as she says and I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her closer to me and she wraps her arms around my neck and we stand there and kiss until Johanna walks in name interrupts us, "I'm sorry too interrupt."
I cut her off before she can say anything else,
"No you're not."
She smirks,
"No I'm not. Anyway, do either of you have any idea when we're gonna set off?"
We both shake our heads and tell her that we don't know so she says she'll go and phone everyone and see if they're nearly ready but just as she exits the room the doorbell goes off and we all go downstairs to answer it.
Finnick and Annie are here and they are shortly followed by Cato and then Clove and then everyone else.
There are loads of suitcases near the door and all of us gather in the living room. Cato and Clove are sitting really close together on the sofa, they've been like that a lot recently and all of us have got our suspicions about them being a couple but none of us have confronted them about, I mean what can you say, 'You two are really close so are you, like, dating or what?' Imagine how awkward it would be like if they said no.
I sit on the love seat with Katniss and ask,
"Is everyone ready to go then?" Everyone nods and then we sort out who is going with who in cars, Gale and Delly in one, Katniss and I in another, the Finnick and Annie, then, surprisingly, Cato and Glimmer are driving down together and Clove and Marvel are going in another car and Johanna insisted on driving there herself.
We pack up the cars and then we're off.
Katniss and I decided that she should drive my car because I'm still not overly confident driving with my prosthetic leg and we can always swap over if Katniss wants a rest or anything.
I turn the radio on and start to listen to the news, 'Yet more threats have been received-'
Katniss talks over the radio so I can't hear what's being said,
"He Do we really have to listen to the news Peeta. It's just the same old crap, we've received more threats blah blah blah. There were some crimes committed blah blah blah. Let's listen to some music?"
"Okay. I'm not really bothered." I switch the radio over to a music station just as the song, 'Everybody Talks' by 'Neon Trees' comes on.
"I love this song! Peeta turn the radio up."
I do and she starts to sing along and she opens all of the windows in the car,
"Hey baby won't you look my way?
I can be your new addiction
Hey baby what you gotta say?
All you're giving me is fiction
I'm a sorry sucker and this happens all the time
I found out that everybody talks

And that was when I kissed her

About half way through the song I decided to join in with my 'angelic singing' and Katniss quickly closed the windows and tried to contain her laughter but it didn't work. She burst out in hysterical laughter but she still managed to song beautifully.
"Did you close the windows because you wanted to keep my beautiful singing voice to yourself?"
"Yeahhh... That was exactly what it was Peeta."
"I thought so. I've often been told that I've got the voice of an angel."
Katniss giggles them adds,
"being strangled."
I fake gasp and put my hand on my heart pretending to be hurt. It doesn't last long because I just end up laughing.
I glance at the clock and see that we've only been driving for 15 minutes and we have a good 5 to 7 hours worth of driving to get there but I don't think it will drag, not when I've got Katniss with me.
****6 hours later.****
Me and Katniss swapped around around two or three hours ago when we stopped to get food so when we arrive at the house I pull up on the drive and turn of the engine,
"Katniss we're here."
She doesn't respond so I look over to the side and see that she's fast asleep with my hoodie placed over her like a blanket. She looks so sweet so I don't want to wake her up and also if I did wake her up she'd probably rip my head of anyway and that wouldn't be too fun.
I get out of the car and find the key for the house under the doormat where I was told it would be and I unlock the door. I let everyone else in and the other girls walk into into the house while I pick Katniss up and carry her in. I place her on the sofa and then go and grab our luggage out of the car.
After we're all settled in after around half an hour we decide that we should go shopping and get some food so that we can make a start on tonight's meal but Katniss is still asleep and I don't want to wake her.
"Does someone want to stay here with Kat so we don't have to wake her up?"
Finnick says,
"Why can't we wake her up and take her shopping with us?"
"Because, my dear, poor, stupid, foolish boy you do not wake a sleeping lion."
"You may not but I will."
"Be my guest Finnick but I shall not help you reattach your head to your shoulders after she bites it off."
We've only been here for less than an our and things like this are already happening so all I can say is that this week is going to be a lot of fun!
