This chapter will be poorly written! I'm writing on my phone again :/
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's hard to believe we are leaving the beach tomorrow. I didn't ever want this week to end. I feel like I left a lot of bad memories behind me, which were replaced with good ones here. So far, I'm the only one up. I wanted to start the day early because I want it to last forever. I sit on the back deck, sipping some coffee and eating a bagel. First dibs on the food for actually being up first. I usually am the last one to wake. I watched the sunrise over the water, but it is completely in the morning sky. It's 8 a.m. now, so I've been up for 2 hours. We've told the others that we looked at houses down here, but In not sure they think we are serious about it. Either way, we told them about the house we both liked the best. Even though it will probably be sold by the time we could put a down payment on it. I sigh, wishing I ha been born a moth earlier so I could have the money and the house. I think someone else has woken because I hear some commotion in the kitchen. A few minutes later, Gale walks outside.
"Good morning." I say smiling.
"Mornin Catnip. What are you doing up so early?" He sits down across from me.
"Waiting for everyone else to get up." I drink some more coffee.
"Well you might have to wait a little longer. Everyone is out cold."
"What did you do? Slip sleeping pills in their foo last night?" I complain. "I want them up now!"
"We could wake them."
"No, cause I hate when people wake me. Maybe just Finnick."
"Well I think he was starting to wake when I got up." He says.
"That's a start. So what are we all doing today?" I ask.
"Um, I think we will have to talk about it when everyone is up here. I heard there is a haunted house we could go to."
"It's not close to Halloween though. Wouldn't that end up just being lame?"
"No, not really. I thought the same thing at first but then I took a virtual your of it. It looks pretty legit."
"How much per person?"
"Well since it's not October, it's cut in half. $10 per person."
"That's not bad. We could go there, go to the outlet mall, and then I have to teach Peeta how to swim." I say. I remembered yesterday that I promised I would teach him in the lake where my father taught me, but I want to make my own memory with Peeta.
"He doesn't know how to swim?" It's obvious Gale is stifling a laugh.
"No, he is a bit of a yuppie." I giggle.
"Who's a yuppie?" I look at the door to see Finnick.
"Peeta."
"Well that's a nice thing for you to say." Finnick sits directly to my right.
"It's true he is." I say "so what do you think of a haunted house?"
"What?"
"Going to a haunted house today. Then to the outlet mall. Sound good?" I ask.
"Sounds good to me. We will have to check with the others though."
"Duh fish boy!"
"Why do you always make fun of me?" He complains.
"I could call you food face again."
"Or you could call me Finnick. Heck, I would even answer to Mr. Odair or even Poseidon."
"I know God of the Sea." I rub his back gently.
"Let's go wake up the others." Gale says and we all go back inside.
"Yeah I'm tired of waiting." It doesn't look like anyone else is up yet but it's nearly 8:30 and we have a lot to do today. So we all go to the basement where there are 8 bodies laying on the floor, snoring and remaining still.
"How can they sleep so long?" Finnick asks.
"It's actually easy. I'm usually the last one to get up."
"Yeah, we know Kat. We have had to wait on you all week." Gale says as though he is complaining.
"Hush. Now how should we wake them?"
"We could blare a song over the surround sound."
"Good idea Finnick! I know the perfect song. and the perfect part." I take my phone from my pocket and set it up so it's connects to the speakers with Bluetooth. Looking through my song list I find the song I want. I turn my volume down an I find the exact part I want. If this doesn't wake them then they are probably dead. The song is "Something about the Boy." By Little Mix. I pause it and turn my volume up all the way.
"Baby Please!" Screeches through the speakers. The high note is a note I can hit almost perfectly, but is still very loud and annoying. Everyone shoots straight up and covers their ears. Finnick, Gale and I all laugh. I turn the sound off and while they all stare at me.
"Katniss!" Peeta complains loudly.
"Yes?" I say much to innocently.
"You know what!" Johanna yelled that.
"Yeah I do. But ya'll were sleeping to long and I wanna go do sonething." Everyone frowns at all the energy I have, which only makes me laugh harder. Slowly they all start to get up and get ready. Finnick, Gale, and I walk upstairs to wait for them. I can't cook so they can all either wait for Peeta to get them food or fend for themselves. After about 15 minutes they finally all come upstairs.
"Took you long enough." I mumble but I'm sure they all heard me.
"Yeah yeah. At least we got up." Marvel says sitting down.
"So what are we doing?" Glimmer asks sleepily while Cato wraps his arms around her.
"Haunted house, the outlet, and then whatever."
"Sounds good. But I need food." Johanna says.
"You always need food."
"It's the only way to live brainless." She rolls her eyes.
"I will cook while everyone else gets ready. Then while you eat I will get ready." Peeta says. Everyone kind of nods in agreement. There is a shower in the basement, two upstairs and one on the main floor. So everyone basically races to different showers to get ready. I'm in the basement before anyone else. This shower is a lot bigger than the others. I strip of my pajamas, which were basically sweat pants and a tank top. I walk into the shower and close the dor behind me, stepping around a small corner to the shower head. It's almost like a hallway shower of something. I turn the water on so it is very hot. It almost burns my skin but that is how I like it. I wash my hair and my body and then I just stand there for 10 minutes, enjoying the water and the peace. Everything the past week has been so loud and I'm fine with that, but the quiet time is nice too. Finally, someone starts banging on the door telling me to hurry up. I guess I've been in here long enough. I dry off, and put on my bath robe. Clove was the one knocking and she is quick at showers. I go upstairs to see everyoe else is sitted at the table eating food. I go up to Peeta as he sets down the last plate, and give him a quick kiss.
"Go get ready." I say.
"Yes mam." He fake salutes me like I'm a military general or somethin. I go upstairs to blow dry my hair and put on my make up. Then I go back downstairs where I see Clove has joined everyone, sitting between Marvel and Johanna.
"Where is Peeta?"
"Downstairs in the shower. But I would wait for him to come back up." Finnick says.
"Why?"
"Because we don't know what you two will be doing and we wouldn't want to walk in on anything." He smirks.
"Then don't come down." I say and the first thing I hear is Johanna almost spit her food out laughing. The others start laughing slightly and I smile. "I'm just kidding Finnick."
"You better be." I roll my eyes before heading for the basement. I have to change down there anyways. Finnick is like my overly protective brother, so I'm sure he will come down in a few minutes to make sure nothing is really going on. I get to the bottom of the steps and I hear the water shut off. So I will change quick. I pull on athletic shorts with a T-shirt, my tennis shoes coming on last. I stand in front of the mirror before braining my hair. Perfect. I'm walking for the stairs again when the bathroom door opens and Peeta walks out in a towel. Oh gosh, Finnick please don't come out now. The towel is around his waist, so his abs are showing. Seeing him like that makes me blush, even though it shouldn't. I've seen him with his shirt off many times this week. Every time we all went to the beach he had his shirt off and I never blushed then. Maybe it was because he had swim trunks on then. He seems shocked to see me down here, but then he smiles.
"You should take a picture It will last longer." He says. Oops, must have see me staring.
"I might do that" I pull out my phone and he strikes a pose. I laugh. "I can't take a picture. If Finnick saw it he would kill me." Peeta smiles.
"Oh well."
"So, you need to hurry and get ready! I'm so excited for our last day here." I say overly excited.
"I am too. So go upstairs and eat." He grabs his bag and waks for the bedroom to change.
"There are so many stairs!" I yell and I get a laugh in return. I go pstairs to everyone looking outside. I look out too and I see the last thing I wanted to see. Rain.
"No!" I complain.
"Sorry Katniss. The weather channel says it won't end until tonight." Gale says.
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah." Cato says.
"But, I have to teach Peeta how to-" I'm cut off.
"How to what?" Peeta says from behind me.
"Swim." I say looking at the ground. He puts an arm around me and I bury my face in his chest.
"Just teach me in the lake. That was the original plan."
"Yeah, I was just really excited." Thunder rolls over head and lightening flashes.
"That's okay. We can just hang around here today. It will still be fun." I nod my head even though I'm still depressed. So that's what we do all day. We go to the basement to play some games, we play on the X-Box and the whole time we blare music. At some point we decide to do karaoke. Everyone can sing so well together. Like we have the perfect number of boys and girls that we harmonize perfect. We go upstairs around supper time again and I see the rain has stopped and the clouds have started to clear. Not all the way, but enough that I can see the sun setting. The sun setting. Oh my gosh! That was the whole reason of this trip. That's how we started talking about it when we were little, Peeta and I. We were talking about the sunset. That's the whole reason we wanted to come.
"Peeta!" I yell. He comes to me and I take his hand, dragging him outside. This is our last night here so this is our last night to watch the sunset. We both sit in the sand, which is wet from all the rain but I don't care and apparently neither does Peeta, and we watch as the sun sets over the water.
"That's my favorite color." Peeta says.
"I know. It is really pretty." I lean my head on his shoulder.
"Not as pretty as you though." He says and I laugh.
"I don't know. I have never seen anything like that before. The ones back home don't seem to cover the entire sky."
"Yeah, the ones here are pretty amazing."
"Peeta as soon as we get home I have to teach you to swim."
"I know. And you will. Just don't let me drown okay?" He laughs.
"Okay." I smile.
