Chapter 4 - The Guards And The Job

Your POV

"What is that noise?"

"It's the royal guards!!"

"What?! Why are they here?!"

"I don't know! But we need to hide!!"

The guards suddenly screamed, "Not so fast!!"

They grabbed the black and red hedgehog by his arm and then I suddenly felt my hands being cuffed together and I was held back by at least 3 guards.

"Shadow the hedgehog! What is wrong with you? You snuck out of the castle without permission!" A red echidna guard shouted at him...

Wait just a minute... That black and red hedgehog... That's Prince Shadow the hedgehog?! I bumped into the Prince?! Wow, and here I was thinking that the prince was stuck up and rude. He said my name was beautiful...

"Gawain, I've been stuck in that royal prison for 18 years of my life! I was not going to stay there any longer!"

"Fine. But was this villager harassing you?"

"What? No! She's innocent! She didn't do anything, so let her go!"

"We're taking her to the King and Queen... And you're coming with us... "

Shadow's POV

We travelled all the way back to the castle. As we entered, Mom and Dad were standing there, waiting for us. And they looked really pissed.

"Shadow the hedgehog! What were you thinking?! Running into the village like that?!"

"I was thinking that it was the best thing that I've ever done."

The both shot me unamused glares, then they turned their attention to (Y/N).

"And you! If you hurt our son, then so help me I will put you up on the guillotine and slice your head off!!"

"Mom!! What the heck?! She didn't hurt me! She didn't do anything! I just bumped into her! That's all!! Don't but her in Prison because I just met up with her!"

"Fine... But she'll be working for you as your personal maid... "

Then she finally spoke up, "W-Wait... What about my family...? I can't just leave them..."
I looked at her, the at my parents. They sighed and said, "We'll give them somewhere to live near the castle so you can visit them."

Her eyes lit up beautifully as she thanked me and my parents she was set free and taken to her family to help them move into their new home. She seemed really happy to know that she didn't live in a shack anymore. And I was happy to know that I'd see her every day...
