Chapter 3 - Meeting Up

Shadow's POV

I'm sick and tired of staying in this royal dungeon. I need to get out of here. But not even the guard would let me. I'm going to see how people live outside the castle.

I changed into some casual clothes, so that I wouldn't be recognized easily. Then I walked to my window and climbed down. I knew my parents would go ballistic over the fact that I'm missing, but I seriously don't give a shit.

I just wanna get out of here. I reached the bottom of the window and snuck past the guards and out the gate. I made my way into the village.

Your POV

Like everyday, I was out in the village trying to make money to help our family get through another day. But, like always, I merely get coins from the villagers. They stare at me like I'm shit on the floor. Damn them.

I packed up my things, hoping the others had more luck than I did. As I started walking, I bumped into someone, dropping all my things. I looked up to see a black and red hedgehog. I knelt down to pick up my things as he helped me.

"I'm so sorry! Here, let me help."

"No, I'm sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going... "

We both reached for the last item at the same time and our hands touched. We at each other, kind of flushed. Now that I can see him properly, I realize that his eyes are the most magnificent crimson red color ever...

Shadow's POV

I looked into this girl's eyes. I never thought that I would ever see such a beautiful shade of (E/C) in my life. And I looked at her face as we stood up. She was the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen. She stared at me with wide eyes before breaking the silence.

"I'm terribly sorry for that. Uh, I think I'll go now... "

She was just about to leave, but I quickly stopped her.

"Wait. What is your name?"

She just looked at me very confused.

"You want to know my name? That's odd, because usually no one wants to know who I am..."

"But I do... What is your name?"

"... It's (Y/N)... "

"(Y/N)... What a beautiful name..."

She smiled a beautiful smile and red dusted her cheeks. She looked away, shyly. Suddenly, I heard shouting and clanking of metal. Shit! It was the guards! Damn them! My parents sent them to look for me...!
