the distinct smell of burning flesh was the only thing that ski could think about. she dropped to her knees and shook vigorously in trauma as if she had come home from war with PTSD and a firework had just been set off into the night sky. her head fell into her hands as she let out a shaky shriek. her body shook back and forth continuously like a mental asylum patient who had only turned crazy from being there.

her sorrow stopped suddenly to a pair of black leather boots crushing the buds of newly grown tulips. the steps were slow but wide and meaningful like a sinister cat who was ready to show prey who he should fear. she knew that he was up to something and was trying to do it as quick as possible while she was swallowed in her sadness or in other words distracted. as his feet walked out of view, she sat up and rolled to a position where she could see anything that was behind her. it was pointless to the fact that nothing was there. there was a silent pause, except the wind that proceeded its harmonies. ski froze. her neck hair stood on end as her pupils widened when she felt a warm stream of breath flow down her.
