Falling For A Friend

Confession

The night had come for the pre-Christmas dance. There was a lot of excitement but for Veronica the main feeling was nerves, as she knew that tonight was probably going to be the night where she finally confessed her feelings for Betty.

She certainly felt better after her chat with Kevin but she was still incredibly nervous about how her best friend would react. She was snapped out of her thoughts by the doorbell ringing. Veronica opened the door to see Betty smiling at her.

When they got inside Betty said: "I know we have to go in our cheerleading uniforms but I was thinking we could show each other our dresses first". Veronica smiled and replied: "sounds good to me" and Betty went into the bathroom to change while Veronica got changed in her bedroom.

As Veronica was trying to compose herself in the mirror Betty came back in and said: "how do I look?" Veronica turned round and suddenly struggled for breath. Betty was wearing a red dress and had her blonde hair down and in waves. All Veronica could manage to say was: "you look beautiful".

Betty replied: "well I have you say you look pretty stunning yourself". Veronica had decided to wear a blue dress, with pearls of course. What the brunette didn't know was that Betty had recently been questioning how she feels about her.

After changing back into their cheerleading uniforms they headed for school. They were both pleased that they were performing at the start so they could spend the rest of the night partying. When they got there they saw Kevin. As they went past he gave Veronica a reassuring look and mouthed 'good luck'.

The River Vixens nailed their performance and even Cheryl had to admit she was impressed. Afterwards the girls got changed into their dresses so they could spend the rest of the night dancing. First of all though, Betty and Veronica decided to head for the bar.

The girls were slow dancing together to The Weeknd's 'I Feel It Coming' with Veronica having her arms around Betty's shoulders and the blonde having her arms around the brunette's waist. At that moment they caught each other's gaze and stared into each other's eyes.

Veronica couldn't cope any more and ran out. Betty was both shocked and concerned so she decided to follow Veronica and found her outside slumped against a wall. She softly said: "Veronica, you OK?" and noticed the tears streaming down her friend's face.

Veronica wiped away the tears and said: "I need to tell you something, but I need you to promise you won't hate me". Betty placed her hands on Veronica's cheeks and replied: "we've been through so much already that you and me are solid- you can tell me anything".

After taking a deep breath, Veronica said: "I've been in love with you ever since we first met" and placed a kiss on Betty's lips. When their lips parted they stared into each other's eyes again for a brief moment before Betty returned the kiss, this time both girls let their feelings out.

Once they broke the kiss again they placed their foreheads together and Betty said: "I love you too. I suppose I've been trying to hide it because, well you know what my mum is like, but the truth is I love you and I want us to be together"
