Keeping The Secret

As Betty was getting ready for school, she said to her mum: "I'm gonna be late back tonight, I'm going to Pops with Veronica after school". Alice made her disapproval clear, saying: "I really don't know why you're friends with that girl".

Betty replied: "that's because you always see the worst in people- and you never gave her a chance, you just heard what everyone said about her when she first arrived and believed it. Get used to it mom, she's my friend".

Betty hesitated slightly before saying 'friend', careful to make sure she didn't let it slip out that her and Veronica were actually now a couple. Speaking of the brunette, she texted Betty to say: "we still on for tonight babe? xx" the blonde instantly replied: "of course we are".

When Betty opened her front door she was greeted by Veronica, who said: "thought I'd surprise you and walk you to school". As they were walking, Betty nervously asked: "you are OK with us not telling anyone else yet aren't you? Because I don't want you to get the wrong idea".

Veronica replied: "going public is a big step so it's got to feel right for both of us. Besides, we've only been together officially for a couple of days. There's no need for us to rush anything". The girls smiled at each other and Betty gave Veronica a kiss.

Fortunately they only had one more day of school to get through before the end of term- and everyone was glad to see the back of this term. With everything that had gone on with Jason's death and the subsequent investigation it had been a living nightmare which everyone needed to move on from.

After getting through the day, it was finally the Christmas holiday. Betty and Veronica started their holiday with a date at Pops. It wasn't exactly romantic, but they were together so that was all that mattered to both of them.

Hermione wasn't working so Veronica didn't have to worry about showing affection towards Betty. Feeling cheeky, she kicked off her shoes and started rubbing her foot up and down Betty's leg, which certainly took the blonde by surprise but she had to admit she enjoyed seeing a playful side to Veronica.

The brunette giggled as she could see the effect she was having on her girlfriend and as she caught Betty's gaze, she gave her a cheeky wink and a smile. There was no way Betty could resist that smile, even if they were in public right now.

After she was done flirting, Veronica said: "so, I can't wait for you to see what I've got you for Christmas". Betty smiled and replied: "I'm sure I'll love it, hopefully you'll love what I've got you". Veronica said: "well it's from you so I'm sure I will".

At that point Kevin came in and, having heard the last sentence said: "OK you two are too cute I think I'm gonna be sick". Veronica replied: "just don't tell anyone about the whole me being romantic thing yeah, I have a reputation to live down to around here".

All three of them could only laugh at Veronica's last statement. Betty loved the fact Veronica was so confident in herself and didn't care what anyone else thought. Part of her wished she could be more like that herself
