Reunion

Betty was settling in nicely to living with Hermione and Veronica. Alice could plead all she wanted for Betty to come home, but her daughter refused until she acknowledged her relationship with Veronica. Alice said she couldn't do that, so Betty was going nowhere.

Although Veronica wanted to see Betty patch things up with her mum, part of her enjoyed having her girlfriend around all of the time. It was certainly a lot better than when the two of them had to sneak around to see each other.

That morning Veronica got a letter in the post which she immediately looked concerned about. Betty, noticing the sudden change in her girlfriend's mood, said: "everything OK babe?" Veronica replied: "this letter is a visiting order from my dad, he wants to see me.

Part of Veronica was excited, but she was a lot more nervous about this than she had been about coming out. This would be the first time she has seen her dad since he got sent down so she had no idea what to expect when she got there.

Betty insisted she was going with Veronica and the brunette didn't need convincing. She was glad of the company and it made her feel reassured knowing that she would have the girl she loves by her side when she saw her dad.

As they arrived at the prison, Veronica took a deep breath. Betty instinctively held Veronica's hand and said: "it's OK, I'm sure your dad will be pleased to see you. Whatever happens in there, I'm with you every step of the way". Veronica gave the blonde a kiss and said: "I really don't deserve you.

When the girls went inside and Veronica made eye contact with Hiram, she immediately ran up to her dad and pulled him into a hug before saying "I've missed you so much". Betty had decided to stay at the side so Veronica could spend some time with Hiram.

Veronica told Hiram how she had settled in since she and Hermione had moved to Riverdale and Hiram replied: "You two could fall face first in mud and still come out smelling of roses. So are you going to introduce me to your friend or is she gonna have to sit there all day".

Veronica turned round and gestured to Betty to come and join them. As Betty walked over to the table and said: "pleased to meet you Mr Lodge, Veronica has told me a lot about you". Veronica added: "dad, this is my girlfriend Betty".

Hiram didn't seem that surprised at Veronica's use of the word 'girlfriend' and replied: "so you're the one who managed to tame my daughter. It's nice to meet you Betty- and please, call me Hiram". The girls then told Hiram about how they first met and got together.

Veronica couldn't have been happier with how the visit went. It was great for her to see her dad again and there hadn't been any of the awkwardness she was worried there might be. She thanked Betty for being there and the blonde replied: "I told you earlier, whatever happens, I got you"

Now it was time for the girls to go home, back to reality. Hermione was out for the evening so the girls had the hotel to themselves. They were both pretty tired so they decided to have a nice relaxing evening, just the two of them
