Parental Reactions

Veronica was opening her locker when she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist and someone behind her kiss her shoulder. She smiled as she instantly knew who it was. She turned round and wrapped her arms around Betty before giving her a kiss.

As they remained with their arms around each other, Veronica said: "I think every day should start like this". Betty smiled and replied: "well I'm sure that can be arranged. Anyway I've been thinking, I'm gonna tell my mum about us tonight".

Veronica was shocked and asked: "are you sure?" and Betty added: "it's going to happen at some point and with everyone else knowing it makes sense. I have to admit I'm nervous though". Veronica replied: "I don't know why, it's not like your mum has had a grudge against me ever since I arrived".

Both girls had to laugh at how calmly Veronica mentioned it. The brunette had to admit she was nervous about telling her mum, but she was more confident about the chances of her having a supportive parent.

That evening, Veronica came home and Hermione instantly noticed how happy her daughter was, so she said: "OK I have to ask what, or who, has put that much of a smile on your face?" Veronica replied: "Funny you should ask, I was going to tell you about that anyway".

After both women sat down, Veronica said: "I've been dating someone for the last few weeks. To be precise, Betty. I know this probably comes as a shock to you but I love her, I've honestly never felt like this about anyone before". Hermione replied: "I've always liked Betty, she's a good influence on you. If she makes you happy then I can't ask for more than that".

Meanwhile at the Cooper house a familiar situation was taking place, Alice was trying to control Betty, but her daughter was having none of it. Alice tried to justify herself by saying: "I just don't want to see you get hurt by people that claim they're your friend when you can't trust them- like Veronica.

At this point Betty snapped and yelled: "you know what, I've had enough of you bad mouthing Veronica. She has been more of a support to me over the last few months than you and dad ever have. Oh and get this, she's my girlfriend".

Alice was stunned at what she had just heard. All she could say was: "what do you mean she's your girlfriend?" Betty replied: "Veronica and I are dating, we have been for weeks. Oh and don't even think about saying it's just a phase. I love her and she loves me".

When Alice said: "you might think that now but I know what people like her are like" Betty said: "don't make me choose between you and Veronica, because trust me you won't like the decision I make. It's fair to say things went as well as Betty expected.

Later on the blonde arrived at the Lodge's hotel and Veronica opened the door and said: "Miss Cooper, I've been expecting you". When Betty asked: "seriously?" Veronica replied: "yeah, when I told my mum I asked if you could stay here if Alice kicked you out or you walked out".

Hermione added: "and I said that you were welcome to stay as long as you like. Alice Cooper may be stuck in the dark ages but I'm not, as far as I'm concerned if you make my daughter happy then I'm happy" and gave Betty a hug
